We met friends over from Aberdeen for lunch. The food was OK, nothing special about it. The service was pleasant enough, although the staff were very pedantic that we couldn't order food unless we were seated in the dining area, then when we finished eating and requested another drink, we had to move out of the dining area. It was... More

We arrived a couple of minutes after 9pm and asked if we could have a chance table as we knew food was served until 9.30pm. We were shown to a table and the order was taken quickly. Within 10 minutes our food arrived - a chicken and a haggis, neeps and tatties. This was the first indication something was not... More

Great meal and great service. I would recommend this place but be sure to book as it does get busy. The house wine is good too.

First time here in many years and it was lovely. Ordered from the early dinner menu which is a good deal for those who are looking for somewhere a bit cheaper to eat. Food was tasty and very homely feeling. No criticisms at all with our food, I had the chicken and mushroom pie, others that I dined with had... More

I arrived in the restaurant but I immediately understood that it wasn't a proper one! However, I asked for a soup, chicken with mushroom cream and sandwiches. The first one was terrible and I actually didn't understand what was the basic ingredient! The chicken was also terrible and mainly old, hopefully just from the day before. Unfortunately, I had my... Popped in between trains hoping for a quick lunch. Service was so slow only had time for one course. The haggis neeps and tatties was unbelievable. A work of art it may have been but where were the neeps and tatties? A little layer either end of a cylinder of haggis is not a proper meal. Don't tell me this... More

Took around 15 minutes and asking twice for our order to be taken, the newer Waitress who was nervous and didn't speak much English gave us the best service, the others just ignored us, the food was great but doesn't make up for the lack of service. Will not be visiting again.

We dined here as part of a voucher deal with the Royal Highland hotel. Were surprised at the extensive menu choices. The food was delicious & of a high standard. Service was quick, friendly & efficient. Some people have mentioned the restaurant is more expensive than your regular high street establishments, however i found the standard of food well above... Stupidly, whilst staying at the excellent Royal Highland Hotel we ventured into Ash for lunch without first checking it out on Trip Adviser. What a mistake. My Haggis, Neeps and Tatties was ruined by an overly creamy sauce, and my wife's Thai Green Vegetable Curry bore not the slightest resemblance to Thai food. An overpriced beer and glass of wine...
