We were on holiday travelling by boat along the Caledonian canal. We had researched restaurants before our trip and pre booked before arriving. The service from all the staff was very friendly and the food delicious. One member of our party was vegetarian and she was pleased with the choices she had which is often not the case at some... Lovely food and excellent service. The Roast Beef dinner is fantastic and although they don't have a licence, they don't charge corkage for you to bring your own wine.

It is so lovely to go to a place where vegan food is on the menu! When traveling with folk with dietary restrictions, you are sometimes made to feel like a bother when you ask for alterations or substitutions to the menu - but it was not so in this little restaurant. I could order the bean goulash straight off... More

What a wonderfully unique place to eat. It's half gift shop, half post office but also an impressive restaurant. Food was fabulous and service comes with a dry wit on the side. Really tasty, interesting and best of all, all locally-sourced food detailed within the menu. We could have eaten here every night and never failed to try something totally... More

We went there to have dinner and everything was great! The place is very nice, it's small and the owner make feel as if you were at home. It's located in a very nice place, near to Inverness. It's totally worth it to go there. The food is just amazing, either fish or meat. And the price can't be better.... More

Ordered scallops as a starter which were cooked to perfection but as they were served with a jus should not have been served on top of lettuce which ended up soggy . Lamb was very tender and tasty and good selection of veg and potatoes. The inside and garden area could do with a spruce up .

What more can you say? This lovely quaint restaurant is easily missed as you whiz along the A82 but look out for it and do visit if you want a real treat at a very fair price. It's family owned and staffed and locals love it just as much as visitors. There is a very wide choice of food all... More

We were in Inverness for one night and chose to have dinner at Oakwood. I phoned ahead to let them know that my wife was allergic to dairy and they went out of their way to have options prepared for her. Everything here is home-cooked and delicious. We felt right at home and it was a great way to spend... More

We found this online by searching vegan food and were pleased to see it was only 20 mins away from where we had just moved too. I did ring in advance to book (definitely do this) and to tell them I was vegan. The restaurant is situated in a lovely setting with a small gift shop. The menu was extensive... More

We must be going for 7 years to the Oakwood restaurant, never been disappointed. The food is of a high quality and is cooked to perfection. They care more about serving quality food than serving as much as possible persons in an evening. The fact that you book a table for the evening, makes it a relaxing evening out with... More
