After asking a local friend where was good to eat as a treat for my husband and I, we were pointed to Cafe 1. And what a beautiful meal it was ! I'm never a fan of fancy menus as I don't understand half the things on them, but we were not disappointed here. The food was simply divine and... More

First time to visit and enjoyed the atmosphere but felt a little let down by the food which whilst enjoyable did not meet my expectation. Restaurant was heaving being a Saturday night but first course arrived with one incorrect dish, the mains arrived without vegetables for one dish - there was only four of us! this took the edge off... Went with two guests from a tour. One wanted a Dirty Martini and good quality Scallops. She got both and was delighted. the staff and dinner were both excellent. not a great sized bar at the front of the restaurant and we did wait 20 minutes for a table. But on saying this, the experience was great and I have... More

My wife and I were chatting about where we should go for our 44th Anniversary Lunch - used to be dinner but now we are retired lunch is better. Anyway after a bit of discussion we opted for Cafe 1 and we were not disappointed. he staff were attentive but not overbearing, the surroundings were restful and the food first... More

I love Cafe1, especially the malteaser crepes but my last trip was sadly not the best. Took over 30 minutes to be handed a menu, but in their defence it was a Friday night! When my soup did come, parts were cold but still delicious! We didn't even stay for dessert as the waiting time for food was very long.... More

Visited the area for work purposes. I ate in this restaurant on consecutive nights and I had absolutely no complaints. Both nights I had soup of the day and a steak dish - a Ribeye the first night & Beef Medallions the second. The soup was really nice and the meat dishes were cooked to perfection. With a glass of... Our party of five waited an hour to be seated, it took three attempts to be given a wine list and then we had to ask two different members of staff to bring the side orders we were still waiting for when the main courses were served. The acoustics are not great either - we were straining to have a... More
