The food was fantastic enjoyed every bite, I had the crab entree which really enjoyed followed by the chicken stuffed with stornaway black pudding with the most beautiful sauce, Sweet's was chocolate cake with a raspberry sauce. Loved it all.

I was looking forward to an evening meal at this establishment and my Wife and I went out of our way travel and time wise in order to sample its food. I was a little disappointed. It was very simple French cooking and I would go as far as to say a little, (Bland) Certainly not worth the expense of... More

Having recently traveled from one end of Scotland to the other for the weekend I was surprised and delighted to find that our host for the weekend had booked a table at Bord de L'eau [there's one to conjure with for you witty punsters out there but I can assure you food and drink ONLY on offer]. Fantastic French menu... More

We visited this restaurant twice during our two week holiday in north east Scotland. It is absolutely fantastic. Brilliant menu, friendly waitresses, prompt service, beautiful wine and ambience to boot. I had the tagliatelle to start (visit 1) and the goats cheese salad (visit 2). Both perfectly cooked. I would have liked a red onion chutney for the goats cheese... More

We enjoyed our meal in this rather noisy restaurant. The French chef is a long way from home in the cold north of Scotland but warms his clients with his fine cooking.

An outstanding meal - superb menu with good service and a particularly nice touch was the French chef coming to speak to us at our table.

Visiting Wick for the first time, for a reunion, & loving the French cuisine, my husband & I wanted to dine by the river. Bord de L'Eau combined both & we were not disappointed; choosing to be seated in the new conservatory, although there is plenty more seating inside. I chose snails, and my husband Fish Soup to start our... More

As a Chef myself i don't often write reveiws restaurants(for fear of being Hypercritical but thought i must here.Fantastic French bistro food cooked with love and had a real homely unpretentious feel to it. First time I've visited and I was really impressed. It was a stormy Tuesday night, rain lashing down but we were warmly welcomed and here it is all about the food and we were not disappointed! We tried the oysters, mussels, fresh fish, scallops, venison, steak, duck, brûlée and crepes and the cheese and coffee...... All looked great and were... More
