If you are in Aviemore then you will not find a better place to eat and chill. We were here for the week and the food was excellent, a great range of salads and the cooked breakfast was out of this world. The only downfall was that we had to queue to get in the pace everyday. It was however,... More

I'll be honest, I felt slightly put out at having to queue on the stairs for 25 minutes before being "granted" a seat. Once seated though we were allowed to relax and enjoy some of the loveliest lunchtime fare ever. There were two of us. I, predictability, chose a burger which was made from the finest minced steak and served... More

ALWAYS busy and no wonder! Everything is fresh, tasty and different. Breakfast is varied, lunch salads are a dream and the afternoon cakes etc. are to die for!! The owner being a Kiwi adds an antipodean twist to the meals, which is great! Carry out cakes are smashing as are the deli items for sale. I would suggest however, that... More

Great kids food, not greasy...they both cleared their plates. Our sandwiches were huge and really tasty. Just sorry we didn't make it back for one of the numerous cakes which looked gorgeous. Amazing view too.

A well run cafe on the main drag in Aviemore. Very pleasant staff and well training. The owner is also the chef and produces the food in house. Prices are very reasonable. Worth a visit for breakfast or lunch as they close at 17:30. Warning-the portions are HUGE!!

We visit a couple of times a year and every time we go the food is excellent and especially the cakes although this time we visited for breakfast. Highly recommended, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that there is usually a queue on the stairs due to the popularity of the place.

This place was a hidden Gem! Wow is not even the best word to describe it. I loved all the selections and purchased my lunch to go. My only complaint is trying to get seated we were on a time line and they only take people in order of how they come in so ahead of me was a group... More

Got mostly ignored for 10 minutes and then still didn't get the coffees we had ordered. Not enough staff from what I could see. Left after 20 minutes and got a coffee somewhere else in jig time. Disappointing.

A really friendly cafe which is very popular and at peak times you may have to queue. Staff cheerful and friendly and food good and suitable for all ages.

Aviemore in the summer is a new experience, normally here for winter adventures. Stopped @ Mountain Cafe on way south and surprised to find a drop of Kiwiana above a tempting outdoor store. Good range of regular dishes, with specials...went for pork & black pudding burger, chowder etc...really good. Views across hills stunning on a sunny day from full length... More

Description
We use some of Scotland's best local produce to create healthy, wholesome & interesting food with a Kiwi twist. We opened our doors in 2004 and have been gaining awards and accolades for our antipodean style coffees, delicious breakfasts, superb lunches & fresh home baking ever since. Our service is friendly & casual with a professional team from all over the world. The café offers excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains - enjoy our balcony area during summer and the cosy log burner to sit by during the winter months. All the pictures are of our food - why not come in and sample our hospitality when you are in the area next?
