This MUST be the best place for breakfast in Aviemore. Awesome food, insane cakes, great coffee. The menu looks like every ingredient has been thought about and the meals are breakfast classics that have had a little extra thought put into them without being pretentious. Service isn't that fast, but definitely worth the wait. We arrived at 10.00 on a... More

We only had a cooked veggie breakfast here but my god, was it good. The fact that people are waiting outside for it to open is indicative of the clear attention to quality food that is paid at this place. I will be back!

We arrived to Aviemore just before 8am and wanted a really good food before our walk. We noticed this place and decided to wait. What a treat! The food was just amazing! The best full English and full veggie breakfast ever!

What a wonderful night in the Mountain Cafe a superb meal for a hungry audience who were there for a Mountain Skills talk after the meal. The meal was so fresh and healthy, the service as always specail. At the end it was a 10 minute turn round for the talk, and it went well. Many thanks for the superb... More

We always come here when in aviemore and know what to expect. A big queue to get a table. We normally have breakfast but it was lunch we were here for and it was fabulous. Tasty, large but not too large portions.

Been here many times over the years and it never disappoints. All homemade, the cake choice is extensive and all good. Coffee is delicious. I just wish they moved to larger premises as sometimes there is a 20 min wait. Not many places can match the cafe

In Aviemore for an overnight stay and, as always, our choice is to breakfast at the Moiuntain Café, Have been coming here, with friends, for a few years now and, as ever, the quality is great. It's our way of setting ourselves up for a day in the mountains. This time, however, I am with my wife who has never... More

There is always a queue but it is certainly worth the wait. The queue moves surprisingly quickly and so don't be put off. The food and coffee are excellent and there are amazing views of the Cairngorm Mountains while you eat. Very rustic but clean and comfortable.

Although we have have had to queue every time we have visited the mountain cafe we haven't been disappointed. The cakes are fantastic. We have never had a full meal though. If coffee and cake is your thing give it a go. I can't comment on anything else.

We use some of Scotland's best local produce to create healthy, wholesome & interesting food with a Kiwi twist. We opened our doors in 2004 and have been gaining awards and accolades for our antipodean style coffees, delicious breakfasts, superb lunches & fresh home baking ever since. Our service is friendly & casual with a professional team from all over the world. The café offers excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains - enjoy our balcony area during summer and the cosy log burner to sit by during the winter months.
