Visited today for lunch & was delicious. Had the light bite lunch 2 course menu & was exception value for money. We both had the venison meatballs with lentils & red onion, delicious could have this again for main. Very tasty. Then we had fish pie & haggis for mains. Again really delicious. Will be back!

Had a birthday celebration lunch there. Thought we would go somewhere special. The food was good slightly above average but bit overpriced and drinks were expensive The children's menu was adequate but the portions were too large for children. The menu was interesting all the do's and don't for children dining with you they would be better saying no children allowed... More

Anniversary meal , booked a week in advance and eagerly awaited . A year since last visit , so disappointed. . Starter was ok ,then my wife ordered bear battered fish and chips . The chips were wedges , burned wedges ! The fish looked like the triangle frozen fish you get in cheap supermarkets , it was also on... More

Superb evening. High quality of food, wine and service. The medallions of venison was just delicious. Great portions! No rush from staff. Look forward to revisiting in the future.

I have friends who live in this village and they are fortunate to have this restaurant there. A very extensive menu and wine list. Comfortable surroundings and excellent service. I chose as a starter Mitchells cullen skink, finnon haddie, leek & potato soup, it was delicious. For main course I had, Slow braised venison & root vegetable casserole with creamed... More

I took my Australian visitors for dinner - one of whom is a retired chef. I can only assume that there is a new chef in the kitchen as the food was not up to its usual standard and my guests were left disappointed. The service was rushed and impersonal. The wine was poured like a harassed mother pouring juice... More

Firstly, this restaurant is situated in the conservation village of Carmunnock, but is easy to reach by car or bus. The restaurant is very clean, very welcoming and the staff were very efficient. We paid a visit on a Thursday night with a relative who was visiting from London. The food on a Thurs night is either from the Brassiere... More

My husband has been desperate to try here so I decided to book us in for his Father's Day. I have a 4 year old and he was immediately amused by the fish tank table. The venue is beautiful and if it had been a nicer day I can imagine it would be lovely to have drinks in the seating... More

I visited Mitchell's for the first time last week. we thought the food was first class although a bit on the expensisve sid e for what we got, The fish soup starter was amazing followed by the king prawn skewers ( only 3 I think 1 more would have been better value). The staff and service was just right.
