The service is friendly and relaxing with the waiters offering good advice on portion size and taste combinations. The food is a triumph: interesting and super tasty. We were there with the whole family and everyone was enjoying the trying different dishes. I've been twice now and enjoyed both the Idli (lentil dumplings with a spicy broth) and their Dosa... More

As I had been told about it by a friend we decided to try it for lunch on a day out in Glasgow. When I looked at the menu online I was very intrigued as a lot of the meals were new to me and I have eaten in Asian Restaurants for a long tome now. As it was the... More

The folks over at their sister restaurant dhaba asked me to try this place if I was feeling a bit adventurous. We took that as a challenge and visited the next day. I'm now a fan of South Indian food forever. I never knew such a thing like a dosa existed. Massive crepe about 3 feet long but like the... More

Visiting Dakhin was a result of a comedy of errors, that included hideous weather, hubristic bus drivers, missed bus stops, ruffled feathers, sore feet and a much needed dollop of serendipity. I almost would not have visited the restaurant, had we not missed getting down at our hotel bus stop, and instead been dropped off at George Square, the last... More

We were in Glasgow for a holiday and someone recommended this place to us. This is the best food I've ever had. We were here 3 times in our week in Glasgow. Forget everything you know about food. Try this place. The menu is simple and easy to understand. The service is friendly and polite without being overbearing. One dish... More

This is a very good restaurant with an extensive selection of dishes. Very good for vegetarians and of course everything is gluten free. Plenty to choose from for meat eaters too. All the dishes are freshly prepared to a a high standard and nicely presented. The waiting staff are efficient, friendly but not intrusive. Location ..very near George Square and... More

This visit was an impromptu return visit to a restaurant we tried out before. The staff were all very pleasant and we were taken to our table very quickly. For all the decor of this establishment is not very eye catching, being mainly wooden tables and chairs with no decorative tablecloths, etc, it is a good location in the city... More

You don't know real Indian food till you've tried Dakhin. One of my mates recommended it to me. And now I keep coming back every time I'm in Glasgow. Ive gone through half the menu. And I love every single dish. Great staff. Excellent service. And the food. Beautiful. So many textures and flavours. Some subtle and some intense. Try... More

Out for an evening meal staying overnight in Glasgow. Food and service was excellent with quality on a high level. This is not your traditional Indian the food is more fragrant and not as heavy as the traditional Indian. Well worth a visit you will not be disappointed.

Food seemed average, some dishes were a little bland, restaurant atmosphere okay, good service. Was just over £20 each with a drink and one course. Not sure I would return, but perhaps I am in the minority as most other reviews are very positive.

Thank nnac

Established in 2004, Dakhin was the first authentic South Indian restaurant in Scotland. Set amidst the centre of Glasgow's Merchant city district, it offers diners a vast array of speciality dishes from India's southern region.

We're talking about authentic recipes using fresh natural ingredients from award-winning chefs. Food worth talking about, and a warm dining experience to savour.

Dakhin proudly features within the Michelin Guide and comes highly recommended by many food critics. If you are looking for something different from your run of the mill Indian restaurant then you'd best be sure not to miss out.
