This was surely something else than the usual bland UK curry. I have eaten in many Indian restaurants around Europe, and this one probably ranks as a top 3. Fresh ingredients, exciting menu, perfectly attentive staff. We came back for a second dinner a few days after we first visited.

Nice restaurant in Merchant City. Trendy decor. Very friendly service. Food is fantastic. It's not cheap, but not overly expensive either. Think we paid something like 30-35 GBP each for 2 courses with 2-3 drinks. I can highly recommend it and we will go back for sure. It's just a shame we live so far away.....

Wow what a find! If you want an Indian which is different (you probably won't recognise anything on the menu!) then this is the place for you! Food was delicious and the service was great with excellent advice on ordering rice/bread. Would definately go back.

A stunning find in Glasgow. South Indian food so a very varied and delicious menu with lighter spiced dishes and more fish than normal Northern Indian ubiquitous menus. Wonderful bread choice including a 2 foot option. Will serve pappadums if requested but don't play safe and take the chance to experiment here.

Went here after trying their other restaurant The Dhabba, they both specialise in different areas of India, Dakhin is South Indian. The flavours are very interesting - the menu can seem a little but daunting if you don't know what you want but the staff are great at recommending dishes for your palette! Will definitely be back.

The entrance to this restaurant is a doorway on Candleriggs, with a stairway that gives little away. Inside, however, the restaurant is large, with an airy feeling and we immediately loved the atmosphere. The service was professional and friendly, with just the right speed for us. We had the Rasam soup and king prawns to start, followed by Been Moilee... More

With everything being gluten free (and most being dairy free) there is so much choice for a coeliac! The food is incredible and the staff go above and beyond. My go-to place to eat in Glasgow. It's not cheap but definitely value for money.

We don't normally have Southern Indian cuisine and don't really know the food from South India at all. We normally have Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Marsala however they didn't have this on the menu. We asked the waiter for a suggestion and he was very only to happy to help. After telling him what we normally order he suggested... More

7 of us including 3 kids, one coeliac and one vegan all went to Dakhin last Saturday and it was the best Indian food I've ever had. Everything is gluten free and there are loads of vegan options. The staff are amazing and made recommendations that suited everyone's tastes. The Dosas are to die for and our waiter offered us... More

Fabulous south indian food in a very central restaurant in the Merchant City area of Glasgow, as we were staying in this part of the city, this was perfect for us. The food was tasty and very flavoursome. We would definitely recommend the dosas!

Established in 2004, Dakhin was the first authentic South Indian restaurant in Scotland. Set amidst the centre of Glasgow's Merchant city district, it offers diners a vast array of speciality dishes from India's southern region.

We're talking about authentic recipes using fresh natural ingredients from award-winning chefs. Food worth talking about, and a warm dining experience to savour.

Dakhin proudly features within the Michelin Guide and comes highly recommended by many food critics. If you are looking for something different from your run of the mill Indian restaurant then you'd best be sure not to miss out.
