Had the Celebration menu with the wine pairing. Best way to describe the food is average. Pre-starter was Rillette with beetroot and that was probably the nicest dish of the evening. Very tasty. Rest was anything but remarkable, soup was thick and plain, lamb was tough, three pieces of cheese boring and the dessert was simply not good. The scallops... More

Soooooo good. Went for lunch set menu 3 courses £25. Really nice. Starters didn't set me on fire but mains were hard to choose between. A taste sensation and excellent service.

Visited yesterday for Lunch with a friend who is local and had booked this restuarant, excellent lunch value and food were both lovely and the pannacotta with rhubarb was truly amazing! It is located a little way off from the main shopping streets but well worth the short walk to find this gem!

Just can't help coming back here! On a recent business trip to Glasgow I meet with my business partner. It was my turn to foot the bill so I decided to treat him to fine dinning. When booking I neglected to inform the staff that Ronnie was in fact a Vegan. No drama on service I pointed out to David... More

We were given a gift of a voucher for a 2 course lunch and 3 weeks ago I emailed to request a vegan option, I received a reply to say this was noted and to advise the server on the day. The 2 course lunch is a set menu with NO choice, on seating I was advised they had vegetarian... More

I was in the downstairs restaurant for a recent brochure launch. It was a fantastic venue, the room was big enough that we weren't cramped but small enough that it felt very exclusive and personal. The staff in both the bar and restaurant were fantastic and did a great job of taking the orders during the presentation! They were all... More

We had a Gin Experience with Edin mill Gin. The drinks were great, but the food was amazing. Would love to go back and totally recommend this restaurant for an afternoon out in a couple or with a group of friends.

Description
Brian Maule left his Ayrshire home town to train in the culinary capital of France, Lyon. Whilst there he worked with some of the country's most respected chefs. In 2001 he returned to Scotland to open his own restaurant in the city centre of Glasgow, Le Chardon d'Or. Since his return he has been acclaimed as one of Scotland's most prominent and accomplished chefs. He perfected his craft by leading a brigade of 18 notable chefs in the famed Two Michelin Starred restaurant Le Gavroche in London, alongside culinary legends Albert Roux & Michel Roux Jrn. Every year Le Chardon d'Or plays honoured host for these lifelong friends, Brian & Michel Roux Jrn to re-unite and deliver what is the most exclusive and sort after culinary event to take place in Glasgow, the'Le Gavroche' evening. 15 years on, Brian and his team still deliver an unrivalled fine dining experience to Glasgow residents and visitors alike. Brian's name isn't just above the door. He works in the restaurant every day where his flair & dedication to train his team in house shines through. This results in a meticulous standard whereby, no dish will leave his kitchen without him being completely satisfied. Paying homage to the bounty of the Scottish larder. Brian and his team experiment with flavours and imaginative combinations to create exquisite recipes which change with the season. As the restaurant celebrated its fifteenth anniversary in June, Brian knows that he has made a significant contribution to the UK industry. He is a staunch supporter of getting young people into the catering industry and is actively involved in the Culinary Excellence programme, helping youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds to experience life in a professional kitchen and dining room.
