We found this charming place by accident and was pleasantly surprised by the quality interior we had oysters to start my wife had seafood platter which she enjoyed I had the fish and chips the fish was tasty if a bit microscopic in size and my five chips didn't make much impact in settling my hunger.. We would go back... More

This was a return visit to Cafe Rogano on the 5pm lunch deal. The descent from street level to the varnished dark wooded basement takes you back to the 1930's. The tables have white linen tablecloths and the walls are covered in black and white photographs of cinema icons. The atmosphere was subdued but busy for lunch service. There is... More

Our first visit to this legendary Glasgow restaurant. We were warmly welcomed, even though we were 10 minutes late. The surroundings and environment are very relaxing and no background musac! The waiting staff were attentive but not overbearing and very enthusiastic when asked for advice. The food perfectly matches the high standards set by the staff and surroundings. The presentation... I was looking forward to visiting Rogano. I have never been before. We had a voucher for Rogano Cafe. I have to say, the entrance needs sprucing up, not a great first impression. The Cafe downstairs is OK, not as grand as I had anticipated. We had mussels and mackerel pate to start, pate was unremarkable but the mussels were... More

Totally agree with the majority of posts on here that say the Rogano legacy has outlived current reality. On the good side, it's like stepping back to the 1950s. And that the problem: it feels like the dining room interiors haven't been cleaned or refurbished since then. And it's cold in winter. The food was OK though, and probably not... More

Old-fashioned restaurant and oyster bar. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish!! All food delicious and well-presented. Art- deco interior was a trip back in time! Fairly formal, but this in no way detracted from the overall experience and ambience.

There are not enough stars on TripAdvisor to give this place the rating it deserves. I have been here several times over the past few years and have always been impressed by the quality of the food, wine and service. Today I had the mackerel mouse with melba toast and pear chutney followed by the sole meuniere with new potatoes... More

Oh dear, Rogano. I've loved you for cocktails in the glam of the art deco bar, enjoyed several fab meals in the past so when I had the chance to visit recently for the first time in over 5 years, I was looking forward to a special meal in special surroundings. What has happened? First, the decor. While there can... More

Friends told us that the lunch we had yesterday was a Jan/Feb special, and at £13.50 for two courses, it was pretty "special", and a great way to get an introduction to this Glasgow treasure. We had cocktails in the Art Deco bar before a very nice lunch (see menu below). We has polenta coated oysters/ham and truffle terrine for... More
