Really liked the restaurant even though we were in the cellar. A little disappointed that we were only offered the "lunch £12.50 for 2 course menu". That said, the vegetable pakora starter were amazing and had good heat. The veggie main course was pretty average and I had specifically asked for extra heat which wasn't there. It was OK but... My daughter and I dined here for her 17th birthday, and not only did we have a delicious meal, but also all the staff were attentive and friendly. To my surprise , after I asked for the bill, the staff came to the table with a cake complete with candle and singing 'happy birthday' to my daughter! I did book... More

A large table for around 10 diners for a retirement celebration. Restaurant was full and noisy so perfect for this occasion. As always the food was superb. It is really nothing like your standard indian restaurant - no bits of meat or chicken swimming in a great deal of sauce. Instead they offer a range of dishes which showcase the... More

We had a table in the basement/cellar which although very busy, had a lovely atmosphere. The service was good, tho had to ask twice to get ice in our drinks. The menu was different to the usual Indian offering which made a pleasant change, with lots of fish dishes available. The food was outstanding and we look forward to a... More

No side dishes (we don't do them), no pilau rice (we've don't do it), not allowed a beer whilst you wait (because you are not sat at a table), treated like a second class citizen, sit outside and wait for your food even though there are 8 empty tables downstairs and after all that the food was not as good... I hate to criticise Mother India, normally one of the best Indian restaurants in a city (Glasgow) renowned for the authenticity of its Indian and Pakistani fare but......I was in the restaurant with three friends celebrating a 50th birthday. Our drinks order of a bottle of prosecco plus a bottle of red was met by some astonishment by the young,... More

A beautiful restaurant, like dining in a romantic candle lit cave.... loved the decor! The food was delicious, the best Indian cooking I have ever tasted. The butter chicken is a must, absolutely perfect! I have already recommended to family and friends!! Extremely reasonably priced!

Popped in without booking, no problem seated downstairs. Customer service great, atmosphere great, menu great the food itself fresh and served warm so I know it's made to order, fish pakora best I've every tasted. Defiantly if back in the area will revisit. Give it a go.....

Four of us ate at Mother India and each had a separate item. Each of the meals was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful for a night out. The service was excellent. Of the four meals only the chicken curry was a bit hot spicy. We had good quantity. The wait staff kept checking on us to see if we were... More
