Visited Hanoi Bike Shop after receiving a gift voucher for my birthday. Booked online and let them know I had a gift voucher to use, even sat it on the table for them. Food was OK, a couple of the dishes we wanted were on...a 50% off deal and we felt we had to buy more dishes to make up the amount on the gift voucher as the terms and conditions stated it had to be used all at once. On finishing the meal we tried to use their gift voucher as part payment towards the bill and were accused by the manager of trying to get a "double discount" from them. We were told we could use the gift voucher and pay the full amount OR pay cash and get the discounted plates and come back another time and use the gift voucher. Ended up just using the voucher as we just wanted to leave rather than stand there and argue about it in front of everyone and of course we won't be back. Manager was rude and unhelpful. Gift vouchers should be treated as the cash equivalent - they are everywhere else.More

First visit but will be back. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice laid back atmosphere. Really tasty food and big portions. Particularly enjoyed the chicken satay and the pork belly. Chicken pho with purple egg was excellent.

Disappointing experience. Very lengthy wait between arriving and finally ordering a drink. It was explained that the food would arrive as and when it was ready- this concept only really works with sharing plates, not when you are encouraged to order a starter and a...main. For us, it meant again a very lengthy wait between dishes. Half the party had finished their main before others had received their first dish. If it had been explained that they were short staffed, we would have understood. However there was little in the way of an apology or any explanation. We only were afforded the opportunity order a drink once, meaning a long time waiting for dishes with nothing to drink. We won’t be back.More

4 friends out to try the banquet menu which didn’t disappoint! Lots of varied dishes with plenty of food, each one was as fresh and delicious as the next. Really not sure why this place has had some bad reviews, we were very happy customers.

Located in the hipster enclave. Had a light lunch of their fishcakes. Was pleasantly surprised at how meaty and springy the fishcakes were (other establishments add too much flour and fillers to cut costs and they end up hard and rubbery). The fishcakes were panfried...and crispy on the outside. Friendly service. Industrial/rustic/Viet decor. An enjoyable meal.More

Had an anniversary meal here and ordered the banquet tonight. The food was ok but the amount of food we got for £60 was not enough it’s called a banquet but it’s half a main and a couple of starters. Poor quality and disappointing.

Bathroom upstairs was disgusting and hadn’t been cleaned all day which was confirmed by cleaning form that didn’t have a single entry at 9pm ( as well as what appeared to be pee and what was definitely toilet paper all over the floor). We had...the caramel chicken which came lukewarm, coating soggy yet extremely dry chicken thigh. Someone else in our party had the steak which was okay. Drinks so sweet we couldn’t drink them. The team working seemed disinterested across the board. Will not be back.More

No longer a favourite. I absolutely loved the Pho here and whenever I came back to Glasgow it’s was the only place I wanted to eat at. Whatever corners the new owners are cutting it’s definitely shows in the quality of the food. Never had...a pho that bland in my life it was very disappointing and if things don’t go back to how they used to be then I don’t see this place sticking around too much longer. Don’t get me wrong I love this place and we did try some other items but I loved the old place this is little more than a Nock off of the original since it got bought over. I can see I’m not the only person who feels this way. I would say to the new owners please take on board what you once loyal customers are saying and give us the old Hanoi Bike shop back. We all miss itMore

The wait time was shocking. We sat for 20 minutes before someone took our drinks order, the food came out 40 minutes after that. We were sat outside on a hill looking on to a horrible alleyway. The salad on our plates was browning. The...toilets were disgusting, doors didn’t shut properly. When our orders eventually arrived it was wrong but we’d waited so long we didn’t dare send it back. Honestly the worst experience everMore
