This is a large venue with a big central oval bar, plenty of staff serving and around the tables. An interesting building with the safes still in tacked, the usual Wetherspoon menu and a good selection of drinks, a good place to visit.

Another great Wetherspoons building acquisition. The original interiors have been maintained and restored. Because of the location ( and perhaps the prices! ) this pub gets very crowded around meal times. Don't be put off, scout around, you can usually find a table. Given the size...More

Visited the counting house this month 3 times the food is fine. The atmosphere is good although no music - the selection of real ale and craft beer is excellent - the main plus point is the value for money - overall excellent visit

Description
The name of this Wetherspoon pub recalls its former use as a bank. The premises were previously owned by the Bank of Scotland. The building was designed for the bank by J T Ruchead, between 1867 and 1870. His design, in the Italian Renaissance style, set the tone for the west end of George Square
