Lovely lunch in a beautiful light, airy setting overlooking the lawn. Staff were attentive and pleasant, and the meal was delicious as well as being very attractively presented. A nice place to come for lunch or an afternoon tea, as well as a visit to the House itself; worth booking ahead as it can get busy. Attractive gift shop next... More

The view from the view room is amazing. If you want to capture the essence of Charles Rennie Macintosh, this is THE place to visit. All aspects of the venue are stunning. There is a lovely tea room and the food is delicious. A must for anyone looking for some cultural history.

5pm.com voucher used for afternoon tea for two with Prosecco. From arrival to leaving we were treated so well! Staff were lovely, friendly and gave great service! Thank you! Everything served was a treat! Fresh sandwiches, great scones and - wow - the cakes! Lovely 'hot' tea - and, of course, a glass of bubbles!! We had a relaxing afternoon!... More

We visited here for afternoon tea on a beautiful sunny day and were able to sit outside, in the beautiful grounds, surrounded by trees, lovely flowers and expanses of lawn. The afternoon tea was nicely served by friendly helpful staff and met our expectations. Nice, freshly-made sandwiches with tasty fillings, good scones with cream and jam, a good selection of... I have been a customer of the café for several years now and have always enjoyed the setting, ambience and food, which is varied and excellent value for money. I felt the service took a slight dip last year and the staff didn’t feel as well trained or engaged, but over the past several months things appear to be back... More

The setting is wonderful but sadly everything else was just ok. It's usually busy so book your table. We arrived 2.15 for Sunday lunch, 2 adults and I child. The menu is excellent with a set menu, a la carte and childrens options all at reasonable prices. We were seated, orders taken and drinks arrived fairly promptly. Starters were excellent... More

This was our first visit to the House for an Art Lover but certainly not our last! The setting is outstanding and the parking and access very easy. The menu is extensive and when the food arrived it certainly lived up to expectations. We were a party of 6, each with different choice; every dish was superb and beautifully presented.... More

Came here for a family lunch. Wouldn't be a choice I would normally make as it is a place not for my generation however the food was great and the level of service was too. The only thing to bring it down was the speed of the service. The drinks, mains, coffees and desserts took absolutely forever to get to... More

Got treated to a meal for two with a voucher from around Christmas time and found it and spent it today at the House for an Art Lover 's Cafe section, although this is more than just a cafe. We booked a table, which is advisable , and had a three course meal for around £15/meal and what a treat.... More

We picked the set menu of 2 courses for £11.99 which was really good value. Starters were all lovely. Mains were nice, but the risotto portion size was a bit mean. We had a nice leisurely lunch and enjoyed good food and good service.
