First visit but disappointing. Husband's steak came with side of a long strip of plastic! Apparently steaks are vacuum packed and strip of plastic had been overlooked and cooked with the steak. My sole was extremely overdone to the point where the fish knife wouldn't...More

Service was slow, over 45 minutes before we received either wine or first course. However, the wine was very good and reasonably priced. One from their recommended list. Food was nothing special and had expected more.

The service was polite but lacklustre and the food below the standard to which I've been accustomed over many years. For example, the cullen skink was thin and tasteless ... can hardly see how that would be possible with the correct ingredients. The absence of...More

Such a lovely little restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food. Gluten free wasn't a hassle and I was just sorry that I couldn't manage to eat all of my pudding.

Food, service and ambience could not be faulted but the whole dining experience was ruined when it was discovered that `someone` had taken my scarf - an expensive camel/cashmere one which was a present. Despite communication with the Restaurant duty manager,Andrew, the failed to locate it...More

This is a lovely fish restaurant which served us lovely food only to be let down with the service in the kitchen. With long spaces between meals and long wait for all the food to be served. This restaurant is usually great but not tonight.

Not quite sure where the name comes from but assume it’s owned by two fat ladies? Anyhow, it’s a small restaurant with all sorts of oddments of salvaged chairs and tables. Didn’t mind that style at all. It’s a youngish crowd serving and it does...More

We booked online in the morning which was very straightforward. We received a warm welcome on arrival and went to our table. It is a small place so all the tables, which themselves are small, are close together but we did not feel hemmed in....More

This is very much a fish restaurant, and quite a good one. However, the wine is pretty pricey and they service was a tad laissez faire. Very small starter portions and we thought the vegetable side dish was for two - not four. So, that...More

There are lots of good bars within a few minutes, most are the trendy type and serve good cocktails. The Griffin Bar is a little bit different, looks like an old pub but has a great range of Scottish Gins; worth a try!
