We chose this restaurant after perusing Trip Advisor as we fancied eating a Thai meal on our visit for the Edinburgh Tattoo. On arrival we were made very welcome. The tables were well set out and the atmosphere was good. We did not book but the restaurant soon filled up with people who had. The staff were very friendly with... More

When in Edinburgh we have visited another Thai for a number of years, this was nearer where we wanted to be so we chanced it and booked a table. We weren't disappointed, the food was as good as our much more expensive Thai eaterie in Edinburgh, wish we had found it years ago. Everything we had was beautifully authentic and... More

Service was actually very pleasant. Starters were OK, but chicken satays are re-heated rather than being cooked fresh. I understand why, it's a busy restaurant, they do a pre-theatre deal so people are in and out very quickly. Personally i would rather wait a ittle longer for sizzling, fresh meat. The Thai Green Curry was very nice, the chicken fried... More

Popped in here with my husband after work on Friday evening. Never even noticed it before. We were offered the pre theatre menu, 2 courses for £13.95. The choice was overwhelming. We decided on crab cakes and prawn parcels to start. Husband had pork stir fry and I had king prawn green curry. The flavours were incredible. Having spent considerable... More

I would definitely head back here again. The staff were greatly accommodating as we wanted a quiet table away from others so an actor relative would get some peace. The service and the food was fabulous and we had an authentic Thai meal in a lovely setting.

This lovely restaurant was a great find. We were staying a short distance away in York place, but only found the Phuket Pavilion when the restaurant we were looking for was closed. Phuket Pavilion is clean and welcoming. All meals were excellent, good value well presented.

This is a little hole in the wall restaurant just off Leith St.about a 2 minute walk down hill from the York Place Tram stop. The food is delicious and the service is great. If you like Thia cuisine, then this is the place for you.

Staying in Broughton & Calton

Neighborhood Profile
Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton have long been transitional neighborhoods with a mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything but overt along bustling epicenter Broughton Street; even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The top of Leith Walk is more ragged. This major thoroughfare boasts a famously gritty gay club, as well as a strip of good Indian restaurants. Regal Georgian and Victorian townhouses preside over largely deserted streets in Calton, where only the occasional restaurant or hotel brings much life. Even so, a steady trickle of idlers and picnickers pass by to climb Calton Hill for its wide-open lawns, wonderful city views, and curious monuments – an Athenian-style temple among them.
