I had the pre-theatre menu (£21 for 3 courses). Presentation fab and main course (pork cooked 3 ways) delicious. Portions fairly small but can't complain at that price and service v good. Watched the snow swirl down outside from this truly awesome building. Bit dimly...More

We had one of our best meals in this place. The selection of drinks from the bar was lovely, the ambience was perfect. The decor was beautiful. This is a formal for brasserie standards. The maitre went out of his/her way to accommodate the menu...More

Great location just at end of bridge. Fantastic architecture of building and marble pillars and ceilings and wood carved Lowe ceilings!!!! Portions very small but great for lunch. Food was delicious!!! Staff polite and friendly. Good choice of wines!

We chose from the "Lunch Market Menu" which, at this time of year, offered turkey as one of the main courses on this short menu, and this is what all three of us ordered, but first to the starters. Although the choice was limited, what...More

I think that this one sits somewhere between average and very good - probably 3.5 stars. The surroundings are beautiful and the service was excellent. However, the food was a bit of a mix - some very pleasant cakes, but the cheese scones (I think...More

Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
