Great find

Walked in to what appeared to be a small cosy restaurant to find a cavernous space behind, this place could feed the 5000! However, plenty of choice, pork belly starter was yummy, pizza was good, not the thinnest base but tasty and the wine was not overpriced. Waiting staff were great. Restaurant... read more

Popped in for lunch, £8.50 set lunch menu two courses. Excellent minestrone followed by italian sausage, spicy tomatoe sauce, polenta etc. Superb, great service and a proper Italian restaurant. Well worth visiting.

A group of 8 of us visited on New Year's Day. The restaurant has an excellent location - you could walk here in 15 minutes from anywhere within the main shopping areas of the city centre. We were shown straight through to our table, which was in the main room which opens out massively to the rear of the restaurant.... More

A busy, lively Italian restaurant close to Leith Walk, renowned for it's family atmosphere and authentic Italian cuisine. Service is most efficient and if not booked in advance at peak times, expect to sometimes wait for a table. But the friendly staff ensure you are catered for throughout your time in the restaurant. We enjoyed delicious main courses and sweets.... More

Not busy at the beginning but for a wet Tuesday in January not bad. Having been handed the a la cartel we enquirer about the set lunch. Rather embarrassing pause while they tried to find the menus so not very popular!. The two main pasta dishes were very good and service was prompt and very friendly

When we arrived the restaurant was very busy . We were seated and handed menus.we waited 15 minutes and eventually I had to ask a waiter to come over so we could order drinks. The food overall was ok but my biggest complaint was the bacground music. It was blaring and was awful. Listening to gangnham style and dance music... More

My first visit although my husband knows the restaurant very well having lived in Edinburgh for many years. We were there with family as part of a birthday surprise for him and the meal was superb! Fab food, good service, incredibly good value and a very happy husband! Could ask for no more. We will be back.

We accidentally booked the wrong Giulianos a couple of weeks ago for my grans 70th. They were extremely accommodating even though they were extremely busy and managed to fit us n there instead of sending us back in a taxi to the other one! fabulous food and very very quick service.

Staying in Broughton & Calton

Neighborhood Profile
Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton have long been transitional neighborhoods with a mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything but overt along bustling epicenter Broughton Street; even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The top of Leith Walk is more ragged. This major thoroughfare boasts a famously gritty gay club, as well as a strip of good Indian restaurants. Regal Georgian and Victorian townhouses preside over largely deserted streets in Calton, where only the occasional restaurant or hotel brings much life. Even so, a steady trickle of idlers and picnickers pass by to climb Calton Hill for its wide-open lawns, wonderful city views, and curious monuments – an Athenian-style temple among them.
