My favorite meal in Edinburgh. Wonderful seafood. Warm and professional service. Historic and beautiful room. Sticky Toffee Pudding a dream. Can't wait to return.

The food was delicious! We especially loved the smoked fish board. Yum! Wonderful atmosphere and extremely friendly and helpful staff to us travelers :)

This was one of the best places we went to on our trip to Scotland. We're from the northeast US (New England, specifically) and we're used to eating very good fish; here we had some of the best ever, including oysters that were better than...the excellent ones I'd had at home. Would definitely recommend and go back if we're ever in Scotland again. Service also very friendly and welcoming.More

Prompt, direct and friendly service in a cosy restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Excellent seafood at fair prices. Superb location on the old docks of Leith water. Go for local ingredients; oysters, mackerel, scallops, fish cakes etc. Ask about the provenance of the fish and...you will get a straight answer. I was hungry and asked for 4 fish cakes - the menu said 3 - and I was not charged extra. Walk the harbour area and sample the great bars before and after the meal. Whats not to like?More

The food and service was excellent. The Sea Trout was delicious, and I would have licked the plate if is could have. The wine, viognier, was a perfect pairing.

Visited on a Friday late afternoon for dinner, mussels and a crab burger, the food was absolutely delicious! The service was very fast and very friendly. It was also pretty cool to be able to see a little into the kitchen! Would very much recommend...this restaurant.More

Unfortunately the food was extremely mediocre. The service was ver mixed…. Some of the staff were friendly others not at all mindful. We ordered a bottle of white wine . The waitress just placed the bottle on the table… no wine cooler ! We had...to ask one of the waitresses passing our table to bring one. The fishcakes were tasteless! The octopus… dry and inedible. All in all , not worth the visit !!!More

Not only the food was delicious but the staff was fantastic. Fresh seafood, excellent selection of wine 🍷. A hiding gem not to be missed

OK - we’ve been all over Scotland and this dinner was at the top of the list… delicious tempura oysters as our starter. The wife opted for scallops which were perfectly cooked. I had halibut and prawns fried in the batter over a load of...chips. I really prefer cornmeal southern style fish & shrimp but I had no complaints. Server was really an enjoyable young man. I shall return!More

Came here for dinner as we have been several time in the past. Sadly now overrated. Seems to trade on what it used to be.

Food was excellent but atmosphere was lacking and service was inconsistent when compared with our last visit. This has lead me to award Fishers four stars rather than five. However, it is definitely worth a visit.

We lucked out getting a table here when someone didn’t show up for their reservation. We had just gotten to town so we hadn’t made any reservations. The food was amazing! So fresh, creative and delicious! Angus, our server, was so knowledgeable and made us...feel so welcome. And, can’t say enough about the sticky toffee pudding! A must-have!More

Simple reason why Fishers has been going for as long as it has - tasty food, very reasonable prices, all served with a minimum of fuss by a lovely team of cheerful, good-humoured staff. Highlights of this visit were smoked haddock carpaccio, the langoustine broth...that went with the halibut, and an enormous bowl of spaghetti with a gentle pesto and seafood (a surprising but delicious combination) which defeated us, alas. Our Italian waitress was wonderful (as was everyone). We shall return as soon as poss.More

Great seafood, and the staff were lovely - the only downside was that is was really loud and we couldn’t really hear each other over the noise from a neighbouring party of six. Obviously not the fault of the staff but took the shine off...the evening. Food was fresh and location was great.More

The second time I have been to this restaurant and it was just as good as the first time ! Great food and fantastic service! Not overpriced, however even with a table of 2 service charge was added , but worth it! If in Edinburgh...we’ll worth a visitMore
