This is a lovely boutique hotel with rooms above their fantastic quirky bar. Over 200 whiskeys so you will be there a while!! The rooms are large, bright, clean and modern. Underfloor hearing in the bathroom with a fantastic power shower, it will definitely blow...More

We stopped in at the Canny Man's on a recommendation from a local. Without reservations they were able to accommodate our party of six. The food is good but not memorable. What makes this place worth visiting is the ambiance of the quirky things located...More

We had a wonderful table in an alcove, perfect for looking at the other guests and over the extraordinary ceiling. The food was good and the wines were more than acceptable. For a change, we were offered a sample of the wines we were considering,...More

Although a bit more expensive than most bars, the service, unique surroundings and quality beers are worth it. There is a huge selection of whisky to choose from and the food is definitely up market. Well worth a visit for tourists. The locals love it.

Great place to have a relaxed and enjoyable lunch in interesting surroundings. Really worth a visit if you don't know it. And try the Olivia's Smile open sandwich.

The pub itself is very inviting indeed and from what I gathered, dog-friendly. The decoration inside the pub is fascinating. My fiancé was looking at the menu and they had a little bit of information on the history of the pub, a member of staff...More

My husband and I recently had dinner at this restaurant. The staff was extremely gracious and accommodating and we enjoyed the ambiance. My husband ordered the smorrebrod with smoked and poached salmon with dill sauce, and I had the roast duck with mashed potatoes and...More

We live locally and, though we hadn't had dinner here before, decided to come here one Saturday night with family visiting from the Midlands. It was absolutely packed in the bar and restaurant area, though the somewhat harassed staff seemed to manage well enough. Very...More

Took my fiancee hete for a quick linch. Used to love this place and the food was amazing. Sadly not this time. A good pint was followed by an overpriced sandwhich, which tasted predominantly of spring onion. Pretty poor service, snooty manager who clearly looked...More

We had a tough day and needed a good meal. Quite disheartened when we went in as it was so busy but the head waiter said he would be with us as soon as he could. Less than 5 minutes later, he brought cutlery and...More

This is a very good pub which serves very good food. Families do go to it, but it's not the first place in Edinburgh I would think of for a child-friendly experience!
