We went there for a dinner reservation that we made online the previous day. Starters Okra & Aubergine were excellent. Ordered Pasha’s plate as the main course. Very substantial, more than enough for four people. Chicken tikka was the best on that plater. Service was...More

Yup, we enjoyed the food, and thought that a non-alcoholic wine would be good. Thought that the £7 price tag was for a glass but should have realised what was coming when it confirmed to us that this was the price for a bottle. 'twas...More

The location is great, the backyard view is astonishing. It can get cold even in summer. The shisha is not that good. The staff are nice, friendly and helpful. Portions are abit small.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

I went there while on a gluten free diet and found plenty of options. Just be careful of the rice as I think it has vermicelli or some other kind of noodle in it.

Set in the heart of Edinburgh is Hanam's Kurdish and Middle Eastern Restaurant and if you think that's a mouthful, wait until you see what on offer! Voted one of Britain's Top 5 Middle Eastern Restaurants by the Telegraph, owner Ahmed ensures the personal touch, by being there seven days a week to offer advice and banter. The menu offers starters such as falafel and baba ghanoush, main courses that include Kurdish pizzas, vegetarian casseroles and halal meat dishes, such as Kurdish-style lamb biryani. There are also a selection of shish kebabs and desserts. Three courses from this banquet-like menu will cost an average of just £20 per person. And, if you're so inclined, you can even smoke a traditional hookah after your meal.
