Came to the Kitchin for, I've lost count how many times. The restaurant and adjoining bar looks fantastic, is relaxed and really sets you up for a great evening. Went for the alacarte, and the usual pigs ears which are truly great for starter. Portions were huge, when compared to most restaurants of this type - which I really enjoy.... More

This was my fourth visit to Tom's place, and for the most part it was really good as it usually is, but my main course (red legged partridge) came along with half of the bird's head including beak, on my plate - apparently the little brain (which you're supposed to scoop out with your knife) resembles the taste of pate... We went to The Kitchin as a celebration for my forthcoming 50th birthday. Having had a wee cocktail to warm us up we were guided to our table and for the next 2 hrs were made to feel like the King and Queen of Scotland. Having opted for the surprise seasonal menu accompanied with the wine package we were taken... More

The Kitchin has quite modern decor and a army of staff but unfortunately the personal touch is missing. When describing the the dishes or the wine the staff seemed bored and their monotone delivery did not help. My starter of scallops was fine but certainly not a taste sensation, the main if Wagyu beef would have been fine if i... More

Visited with our 9 year old, Fantastic from start to finish! The restaurant itself is stylish and contemporary with a great view into the kitchen. Food and wine/champagne as expected from a top quality Michelin starred restaurant.. The highlight was Tom himself coming to our table to wish birthday greetings. You made his day!!

All I can say is WOW. Absolutely gorgeous meal and service was second to none. What a treat, we will definitely be returning to The Kitchen. We went for the classic tasting menu and matched wine package. Was very impressed with portion sizes and also the amount of wine, no scrimping at all. All staff were very friendly and pleasant.... This was the most amazing experience from beginning to end. On arrival we were met by friendly staff who showed us to the bar where we were given complimentary crackers & dip. After this we moved on to the restaurant where we could see Tom Kitchin on the pass checking every meal. Every course was better than the one before... More

Came here with my husband as part of my Christmas present and it was wonderful. We got the train from Newcastle and walked from the station which was an easy 40 minute walk, we were going to get a taxi back but decided to walk as we were so full we needed to walk it off after! The food was... More
