We had a beautiful meal here earlier in the month. The staff were extremely helpful and very accommodating in making sure the tasting menu was adapted to our preferences. The meal was wonderful, the portion sizes generous and the pace of the meal was just right. The whole experience was wonderful and we thought it was a lovely touch that... More

We were really looking forward to our visit... Our whole trip to Edinburgh was based around our visit to the Kitchin. We had the seasonal surprise tasting menu with the exclusive wine pairing. The wine was absolutely amazing and disappointingly outshone the food completely. The lobster was overcooked which they didn't charge us for ... And they gave us a... More

Went to Edinburgh for a last minute break with my girlfriend. Luckily, my hotel managed to get us a table at 2130. We arrived early and we were greeted with a smile and shown to the bar area. A varied cocktail menu, I'd recommend "Blooming Flower" beautiful cocktail. We were then showed to our table. The service as you'd expect... More

Top class restaurant. Went for lunch took about 2hours with all the courses. Came away very satisfied. Its low key at lunchtime so no need to worry about a dress code. It was lovely to see Tom Kitchin cooking out back, a glass fronted panel allows you to see chefs preparing your food. Definitely worth a visit.

From the moment we walked in to this restaurant we were very impressed. The Kitchen is near the water of leith easy access by car, there is a large car park, or bus number 16 or 22 from Princes street stops outside the front of the restaurant, although we walked around the back which is where we found the reception... The atmosphere is laid back, almost like a cabin-rustic feel with dining open to everyone. There were people dressed up and a group of guys that had sweat pants on! There are not really any private areas unless I think you book for a private party. It was myself, boyfriend and my Dad; my dad's first experience to a Michelen... More

Ate here as a group of 4 on Friday evening. Love the ambience and decor of this restaurant. We felt nice and relaxed from beginning to end. We started the evening with some cocktails and canapés in the bar area before moving through to the restaurant. Our server was great at accommodating multiple dietary requests and tailored the tasting menu... More

My wife booked a night here for my birthday as it was one a few Michelin star restaurants we had not visited. We flew up and stayed in Edinburgh to make a weekend of it. Having eaten at the Timberyard on The Friday night which was outstanding, we were very excited about visiting The Kitchin. Very disappointing is the only... More

The whole menu (we had the tasting menu with matching wine flight) was perfect. Often when you have a tasting menu one or two of the courses contain ingredients you just don't like - this was not the case this time. The razor clam dish was to die for and the scallops were amazing - made all the better by... More
