OK just back from a meal at Pizza Express, North Bridge Street, Edinburgh. Lovely food, no problem there. It was busy so I expected some delay but it got to the point where I was left so long that I felt I was being ignored. I said this to one of the waiters, politely that I felt I was being... More

We had an offer with O2 and was let down by a nearby restaurant, so popped in. We were pleasantly surprised with the quick efficient service and food quality. We both got the most expensive ones as our O2PM promotion was a set price. The pizzas were very tasty as was the wine but it was not cheap.

We were a party of six. We each had a main course and wine. All of the food, pizza, pasta and my chicken caesar salad were very good. I thought that portions were were a biit small. Service was good and we were served quickly.

We had a long journey up the Edinburgh and we just wanted something quick and easy, we were greeted at the door for a table of 2. We ordered some drinks and our food the lady who served us was so lovely, our drinks were never empty and food brought hot and fresh to our table. Mary-Kate I think she... More

Always sure of good food at Pizza Express. Their 'specials' are always special - the Autumn one was a great pizza with meatballs. A friend had the pasta which was also great

If you just need a change of pace form the fish and chips, meat pies, soups, burgers and other fare, Pizza Express seems to be very popular. It was pretty busy when we visited, and had come highly recommended from a local resident. The had a good beer selection, and four calorie-conscious pizzas that we shared. These came with a... More

Very nice Pizza Express in Edinburgh. Service was good and my pizza was pretty good too. I ordered the Melanzana with the Rustica dough and it was really crispy. The chilli flakes and garlic oil were excellent and I was pretty satisfied with my choice. The parmesan however is a big minus point. It is this pre-grounded type and was... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
