My wife and I went for dinner on Thursday night, very welcoming and professional staff, nice warm Restuarant, excellent starters and main course finished off with great baillys coffees, first class dinner with a nice bottle of red all for less than £100, will definitely be back next time in Edinburgh.

Decided to pop in here and try the pre-theatre menu and turned it to be an excellent choice. The food was nothing short of superb, the Tom Yum soup being especially delicious. The restaurant itself is small and intimate and you really feel like the staff look after you. Excellent food and service means we will definitely be back.

We had not booked and got the impression that they did us a favor by allowing us in. It was midweek. They seemed busy but not overwhelmingly so. Decor was pretty plain , and I felt detracted from the overall ambiance. However, The food was excellent , and that of course was the main thing. If you have not been then... More

My husband and I went for dinner on a Tuesday night. We did not have a reservation and did not have any problems getting a table for 2. The staff were really friendly, attentive and helpful. We loved the food. It was different than other Thai restaurants I've eaten in. It did have the usual staples on the menu, but... More

This small restaurant has a fantastic reputation and it’s absolutely well-deserved. We had the banquet and it was a marvellous choice as we had a great range of flavours. Everything was freshly-made to order and was exquisite.

Booked a table for a Thursday evening for 5 people - just as well as the restaurant was full. This is a small cosy restaurant situated in Tollcross near the Meadows. It probably seats less than 30 people. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and happy to chat about the choices on the menu. Starters - highlights were the... More

I have done extensive traveling and visited top restaurants all over the world and never have my children been discriminated against... More

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighborhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
