Took the family for dinner whilst in Edinburgh. The food at Pataka is high quality, with friendly service. The team really do go out of their way to make you comfortable.

Fantastic food! Great service by a friendly and warm team. Food was really tasty and lots of choice.
Our first night in Scotland, and we chose this Indian restaurant after going online and reading various reviews. We didn’t bother with a starter, So, I chose Butter chicken and plain rice which is an additional cost. My husband ordered one of the Chefs specialities...and Pilau rice, again rice is an additional cost. My dish came and was bright PINK- completely off-putting. Nevertheless , I was hungry, so dived in. Very very average. My husband said his was very bland and was expecting more from the description of the dish especially as it was one of Chef’s specialities. Overall pretty disappointing. Shame really.More
Very disappointed to read your review. Our Butter chicken has been that colour for 32 years now and no ones complained about it before (also we prefer to call it salmon coloured rather then pink as you described it). Sorry your husband didnt enjoy his...More
Awesome food and service this time much better definitely come back again Pataka restaurant always provide us excellent food and service highly recommended to everyone 10/10
Irene and I fancied a meal out and Pataka always comes to mind. The kitchen is always flexible, and Irene likes the odd adjustment. A bit more sauce please. Try to cook with less oil than normal please. And always the staff listen and the...kitchen delivers. I tried the chicken bhuna tonight, mainly because my friend Rab swears by both the chicken and lamb bhuna at Pataka. Lovely moist dish. Irene had dhansak (also chicken I think). The Peshwari naan was a good addition. I prefer plain, but Irene always persuades me to have the peshwari because for her this is the best peshwari naan going. Complemented with simple sada rice (basmati with that gorgeous smell), the meal was superb. And as always, the service first class.More
Great food and fast service they came out with the food fast and my food was cooked perfect no complaints
Excellent food, great service, nice ambiance, honestly, we had a wonderful time. It was delicious.
The only thing better then the price was the food. It was the best Indian restaurant I have been to. I broke my own rule of eating at different places and went back again. Best decision I’ve made in a while. Staff was superb.
Best North Indian food we have tried so far. Had a very good experience. Kind staff, best service, food worth the price, Highly recommended 😊
AMAZING!! We have been going to Pataka for years and it never fails. Great service, great food and great atmosphere! Would highly recommend!!!
My wife and I went here, after making our reservation weeks ahead - before we left Memphis for Edinburgh. We would definitely go back. The service was great and the food was also excellent. For an appetizer we shared the Tel Baigan and both the...eggplant and sauce were delicious. For entrees, I had King Prawn Biryani, which was delicious and not spicy. I could have eaten it happily, even without the prawns. My wife had Royal Murgh, which was mildly spicy and delicious. We shared Mughli Saag and immediately downloaded a recipe on how to replicate this spinach dish at home. We also shared garlic naan and each had Cobra beers - you should too. So, make a reservation and head on out.More
Best curry in Edinburgh. We wouldn’t go anywhere else! Friendly staff and lovely environment. Food is 10/10 and amazing service!
This is a great authentic Indian. Me and my family love the food and waiters are super nice and friendly. However options are limited for vegetarians. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who has a wide range of taste and enjoys something different....OisinMore
