Myself and a party of 10 enjoyed a gorgeous meal for my husbands 30th birthday. We were in Edinburgh for the weekend from Ireland. We had visited previously when we lived in Edinburgh over 5 years ago. The teriyaki steak and daim bar cake is to die for!!!!!! I have been dreaming about it since I visited over 5 years... More

We had nice burgers and fries. All was fine. The lunch burger deal includes chicken wings and corn on the cob. Nothing massively exciting but v good. The relishes were good.

Been to Buffalo Grill a few times, decided to go for Valentine's seeing as they'd had a revamp and my gf hadn't been in a few years. We were really impressed with the new decor and was good to see some new items on the menu. Starters came promptly and were very tasty, chicken wings fell off the bone! The... More

We have been to this restaurant several times and never been disappointed. The food is absolutely exquisite and the customer service (especially from the manager) is always flawless. He makes us feel so welcome every time. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Was up in Edinburgh visiting some old friends and were taken to The Buffalo. I had the T-bone which was cooked to perfection, my wife had the Beach Boy burger which she loved (didn't finish it, we did). Our friends really enjoyed their steaks as well. The only negative about our visit was a large table who were very loud... More

We visited on a friday night for an evening meal. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Food was very tasty with a good variety, also reasonably priced. I did however find the resturant a little cold, even when the door was closed for long periods.

Took a group of staff who had worked hard over the festival period here for what I used to remember as a great steak, it has been 2 years since my last visit. However, horrendous. From having no waiting staff on apart from the owner/manager, it took 20 minutes to order a beer. Working in the hospitality trade ourselves we... More

Firstly may I take this opportunity to thank you for your review. I do feel obliged to point out that on the evening of your visit your table was checked twice during your meal which everyone seemed happy with and nothing was said at that time, otherwise I would have dealt with any issues there and then. I was informed... More

Came here with my family and indulged myself in the beauty of BBQ sauce, most of which went over my face, much to the amusement of my family. My Hollywood white teeth quickly were emerged with a deep mahogany brown further tarnished with chocolate Ice Cream. I've already booked my dental appointment. The Highlight was when I was pricking my... More

We visited here with friends and family and had a great time. Food and service excellent....We thought the steaks were particularly good. The ribs were a little cool...but tasted fine. Would go again.

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighborhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
