We had rented a near by apartment in Edinburgh and popped in for dinner. They serve proper Indian food - both veg and non-veg. The tarka dal was good and so was the butter chicken. The service was courteous and prompt. Good takeaway option too.

On our visit to Britannia Spice our party of 2 arrived Late on a Friday. evening,no problem to the immaculate turned out staff who ushered us to our table in this slightly dated Indian restaurant having taken our order we had time to enjoy a bit of group conversation while our food was prepared, this is not a fast food joint... I'll be honest, I normally visit here with work colleagues, so at the end of the evening we're probably not in a state to review which is probably why it's taken so long to do one. The service is always attentive. The menu is good and varied. I've never had a bad meal... My favourite is the Chicken Tikka Biriyany.... More

Had booked a table through Wowcher and were made to feel like second hand citizens from the outset. Ordered two beers and the waitress asked us if we wanted Stella. She then returned to tell us that the Stella was broken and offered us Cobra instead (costs more than the Stella). Almost immediately afterwards, Stella was poured for other customers!!... More

So I have eaten here a number of times over the years and I am afraid to say this is a restaurant in decline. The food is generally still good but all seems a bit dated. The service was worthy of Bazil Fawltey fawning at one moment then completely absent the next. We found the coffees basically undrinkable and of... More

Visited tonight with 2 colleagues, a Serbian and a Panamanian. Excellent meal, pops, onion bahji's, Ceylon chicken as hot as they could make it, naan and 2 bottles of Cobra, really really good. If I'm back here I'll come again. I'm actually still here, and feel stuffed. £101 for the 3 of us, pretty reasonable.

I went to have dinner with my kids...the staff was rude and they had some side dish policy which we fail to understand any way food was good.

The place is huge and largely unoccupied on our visit. The greeting was without a smile although that changed when we met the owner. Somehow it lacked intimacy and warmth that we are used to in Asian eateries. The menu was interesting with Nepalese and Thai dishes included. the food was average by our standard and we eat Indian a... More

We were staying at the Holiday Inn next door and.were given 15% discount vouchers. After a titling day in Edinburgh walking just a few steps was a good option and we like Indian food. The place is huge by our modest hometown standards. The decor nautical. When we arrived at eight fifteen on a Friday evening I expected the place... More
