My mother's dream has always been to come to Scotland. We arrived a bit earlier in the evening and took a walk along the Princes Street Gardens. As geocachers, we had worked out a milestone just down the street. Having looked up this establishment ahead...More

I'm very sad that Fleur de Sel has closed. The owner, Julien, is returning to France. Thank you Julien for happy memories and I wish you all the best for the future.

We made use of an Itison voucher and had delicious French crepes for an afternoon treat. We tried the caramel and apple, the crepe Souzette and the pear one and all were so lovely. My only small criticism is that at nearly £7 each they...More

Came here for lunch. Staff were very helpful. I had the Brut cider with my meal which was amazing, I don't normally drink cider but this was a refreshing change. Food nice but not substantial. Not a place to go if your really hungry. Don't...More

Popped in for lunch whilst shopping and was pleasantly surprised by the menu (not just crepes). Enjoyed it so much we went back later for coffee & crepes which were excellent. Would highly recommend a visit.

Did not know that this fantastic French restaurant was hidden away down Frederick Street. Decided to have a light salad followed by a crepe. We were not disappointed. The food and the service is perfect. A little taste of France in Edinburgh. Fully recommend this...More

Been here this evening as part of a weekend away. The host was superb, whisked our soaking jackets away and couldn't ask for any better. Somehow we had no trouble booking a table a few hours before on a Saturday evening. Basic setting which was...More

The first thing that hits you as you enter Fleur de Sel is the warmth of the waiting staff and the chitter chatter of fellow restauranteurs, in French! The restaurant has an authentic French feel to it, some good wines and quintessentially French cuisine, crafted...More

Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,
until after dark when strappy dresses come out to
play. This is the city’s central business district

Fleur de Sel is an authentic French Creperie located in the New town. It is an informal place with a warm and friendly atmosphere where you could threat yourself during the lunch, afternoon and dinner. Galette (savoury crepes made with Buckwheat flour) and Crepes are mainly served but salades, omelettes and some traditional bistro dishes are also on offer.
