called to make a booking. was told on the phone it was not necessary. When arrived there was no table and we had to use a windowsill as a table. Unfriendly staff and ruined evening.

Came for a gig but stayed for food and drinks! The venue located downstairs is a bit cramped but quite intimate and well sound proofed for the restaurant/pub upstairs. Food was fantastic and drink selection wasn't shabby. The staff were friendly enough and the place...has a very chilled, almost sleepy atmosphere but in a good way. Very relaxing experience at least on the night i was there and saw people with pets as well!More

Ended up here twice in a week! It was well located for heading to a party, as well as a wedding reception. Meet here for both occasions. Ate and had drinks on both nights. The service is great - caring, humorous, and just really good!...The food is superb! All super tasty, all freshly made, with originality. Great beers and cocktails too. It really is a gem of a place!More

We were seated right away and immediately felt welcomed by our waiter and the bartender. The menu has classics and selection of imaginative dishes. I enjoyed their twist on the Negroni cocktail.

This place has the friendliest bar staff I've ever come across...it's a credit to Edinburgh hospitality, my dog was given water and biscuits, the staff were super helpful explaining the menu. We were all vegan and the options were fabulous....the place has a great quirky...vibe that is laid back and hip....in summary, a total gem of a bar.More

Very bad customer service!! We went with my friends and sat down at an empty table and a blond girl came to us aggressively and with an attitude told us that there is a sign on the door saying we need to wait to be...seated but we can sit at a dirty table now that we've already done it. The sign wasn't at the door, if it was then we would happily wait for someone to come. What should have been a simple misunderstanding was met with a very rude and mood killing attitude. I complained about it and she just said ok leave. I don't recommend anyone go at all. The point to go to a pub is to have fun and not get attacked and ruin the mood for the night.More

We needed sufficient take away food for six and so basically just bought every starter and two lots of nachos. Fish goujons perfectly done but the star surely the spicy beef nachos with a nice zing. Pulled pork nachos also very good. Looking forward to...returning for a sit-in meal.More

I would go as far as to call this my local, even though it isn't all that local and I have to walk over half a mile, past at least 15 bars to get there. Always great food, imaginative flavours, decent staff, good atmosphere. Heck...you even have a mini nightclub in the basement sometimes. Keep up the good work.More

I popped in here with a friend before heading off somewhere else. There’s no mistaking the theme of the bar. Decked out in wood there’s a lot going on despite it being quite small. It’s both quite dark but there’s soap she’s of bright colours....The staff are chilled as is the background music and it’s on an accessible, busy street. I only had a can of juice and pod two pound for the privilege of it. You can tell the creature that they’re trying to capture in the safari - students and a hispter style crowd.More

Conveniently located for us, online booking available, excellent friendly prompt service, nice house beers and food - Tacos, fish …. Everything cooked fresh, small manageable menu. We thoroughly enjoyed and went back too.

Great atmosphere, warm and friendly staff, fantastic larger and THE FOOD! OMG the food! the tacos have to be my favourite ALL three types! they are delicious. Really funky interior which adds to the vibe!

A lovely friendly wee place that I'm so glad we found. Had amazing tacos and superb cocktails. The margarita specials were amazing, made expertly by a young man called Robert. He is the main reason for this review. We all agreed he made a meal...and a drink out, a really fantastic experience. Great employee.More

In for a few hours and asked 5 times to wear a mask. Not a pleasant experience. Venue itself and beer lovely.

Wow. I just kept catching the bus in front of this place and finally decided to go in. It was well worth the trip. Fish tacos with kimchi and a mango margarita let me know all I needed to know... this place rocks. A safari...theme helped me to forget my worries and the helpful bartender, made great drinks so all is well in the universe now.More

We visited safari lounge last night. 2 adults and 2 young children. Our daughter has coeliac disease, she could have almost everything on the menu, everything is gluten free except some buns and a crumble ( which are kept totally separate). The children's menu had...fish goujons and chicken goujons with fries, all gluten free. I had the sumac chicken which was delicious. They also had toys to keep the little ones entertained. Excellent evening especially for coeliacs.More
