Went there a few years ago to meet our daughter then living in Leith. Hipster pub but happy to see parents too. Music but not deafening, good beer selection and they do food though we didn't try.

Beer is spot on, as was the soup and bagel combo. Very friendly comfotable pub and interesting photos on walls

The main reason for writing this review is because I like pubs / venues that are a bit different or have that old fashioned (in other words unspoiled) character to them, and this pub falls into that category. It's the beds for lounging on in...More

Good boozer, busy during the fringe, reasonable beer and nice Bloody Mary shots, nice location, nothing special though

Food was good, great selection of beers and drinks. Totally let down by the staff. They are too busy talking to each other or their off duty colleagues sitting at the bar. And they have a patronising attitude.

This is a great place with great music. Large beds in the back for those watching films, lovely coal fire in the front when it is cold and the prices are great.

Popped in for a quick drink before a dinner appointment and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. It’s a quirky relaxed pub with lots of nooks and crannies, some interesting memorabilia and and eclectic array of curiosities. Service was good and we shared a table with some...More

This place was actually recommended to us by a different bar in the neighborhood when we asked them if they did a bloody mary. And it didn't disappoint. The place was pretty empty - seemed like a college-age bar though so it may have just...More

Just wanted to give a big thank you to the staff who were working on Saturday 24th. A large group of us were in watching the 6nations games and the staff were absolutely fantastic. Great venue for watching games because they pull down the large...More

We went here after a show at the festival theatre. First impressions were mixed as it was full, 3 deep at the bar and seemingly full of students. Then I got served within 2 minutes, the barman (with the topknot) was very friendly and the...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
