Good choice of malts if you like that sort of thing but a pub is a pub is a pub. Service was friendly and efficient and would probably pop in again when in the area.

Another visit since 2016. The bar was very close to our hotel and situated on the Royal Mile. The owner is an expert of whiskey. He and the staff very nice and the service was perfect.

The food was good, not outstanding but good and served hot. The night we were there we enjoyed live music and a birthday celebration! It was totally where we wanted to be!

I had a nice time people watching from the pleasant front terrace. It was a lovely hot day and the ice cold coca cola went down well. The bar lady was friendly and kind.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
