Wow, I cannot believe that my friend and I stumbled upon this most amazingly delicious restaurant. We were touring Edinburgh when we felt hungry after quite a trek around the city. We were a little hesitant to try this establishment, due to having no previous information or experience of the local culinary scene. However, we could not have imagined the... More

Service was second to none. Food was brilliant and packed full of taste. Would highly recommend. Toilets are down stairs so that may be difficult for some people.

My wife's words, and that says something! But yes, the food we've had is worthy of a mention, tasty and spicy, served quickly by polite attentive staff and a great atmosphere! My wife had the vegetarian madras, me the hotpot, my teenage daughter chilli chicken. All rated at 3 on the menu but all very individual, hot, but manageable and... More

In Edinburgh for the weekend and looking for a good Indian for dinner we couldn't have made a better choice! Food was excellent, service was great even with a slight hiccup they apologised and removed the item from the bill which wasn't expected. Couldn't have asked for a better restaurant and highly recommend over those higher rated in Edinburgh!

This restaurant was recommended to my friends and I so we decided to check it out. It's a large restaurant and was very busy when we arrived (without reservations) on a Friday night. We only waited 10 minutes or so for a table. I tried the lamb rogan josh which was so perfectly tender and delicious. My husband and our... More

Lovely restaurant with friendly staff. I'd recommend the haggis pakora and the chicken korma. Tasty food and I would return. I'd recommend you give this a try.

Butter chicken was a bit poor - could have been any curry ! Indian staff pretty good but the Scottish girls a bit clueless ? Took 30 mins to get the bill ☹️ Must be better Indian restaurants in Edinburgh ?

I visit this restaurant frequently as part of a group of work colleagues as it is very conveniently located, within walking distance to most central hotels. The staff are very pleasant and friendly, and make the effort to greet us and converse with us as regular customers, which is much appreciated. The menu is vast, with almost too many options.... Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
