The food is great. Please try the lamb lollipops. We went on Christmas eve and the kitchen stayed open to accommodate us. The owner is a very gentle and kind man, very hospitable. We had a very tasty dinner.

Not the best Indian food we had in Edinburgh but good. A little pricier than other places. Adequate service but not necessarily friendly.

It is one of the best indian food i had after long time outside india. I got chance to meet with the restaurant owner. He was very friendly, he offered us gulab jamun. It was really delicious. The staff members were friendly as well. If you want to enjoy an authentic indian food, please dont hesitate to visit this restaurant.

A spontaneous visit whilst in Edinburgh and we found this lovely Indian restaurant. Unusual dips with our starters, which were quite large portions, but were very enjoyable. The poppadoms were fresh with a selection of dips- the usual. We all enjoyed our mains especially the unusually named hot pot which wasn't as hot as expected but was very good. Service... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant for Indian food. We were most disappointed. The papadam crackers had no pepper or spice in them. The main course of chicken tikka marsala was overspiced. The raita was tasteless. But the worst of it was the garlic naan which had NO garlic flavor at all. Normally we love the breads at Indian restaurants but... More

Had a lovely meal here tonight. The appetizer of thin bread with a variety of sauces was a delight of tastes and quite light. The monkfish with a coconut curry was quite good as was the Himilayan Hot Pot. good Nan bread as well.

This restaurant serves some really delicious food. The menu isn't 100% traditional which encouraged our party of three to try dishes we don't usually have. The service was very quick and friendly and the staff were very helpful. One of our party ordered the madras and were advised against it as the waiter said himself that he couldn't eat it.... More

Ate here this week for a birthday meal and really enjoyed it. The staff were very kind and entertaining too! the food was excellent great choice of different food which ensured something for everyone. Not too expensive for the quality and service provided. Happy to recommend it to anyone who likes good authentic Indian food.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
