Popped in here since in the neighbourhood and glad we did. In an area which has been gentrified so much recently the Malt & Hops has held on to a bit of character. Okay, the character is a bit rough round the edges but we were welcomed and quickly served at the bar. The place was busy with a broad... More

This is ar really great real ale boozer. Full of locals, great selection of beers, lagers and whiskey. The barmaids were friendly and very efficient, quick service and tables cleaned and cleared regularly. We spent three nights in here, visiting to see the Scotland v Wales rugby match,we had to drown our sorrows somewhere John,Sian,Bronwen & Richard

Good local bar, bar staff were extremely nice. It's a bit old fashioned and in need of a bit of an overhaul but basically if you want a good reasonably priced drink then this is the place to visit

Was out for dinner with friends and, post-meal, we fancied a few beers. On our friends' recommendation we tried Malt and Hops. It certainly won't be our last visit. The pub attracts a really nice mix of people, and the bar prices were very reasonable. The music selection was also second to know. What really our visit, though, were the... More

Popped in for a drink before going to one of the nearby restaurant & wow what a find. Full of locals, all very friendly, lots of real ales & a good selection of spirits. Definitely not one of your trendy, bright & soulless pubs but a pub with character & a buzz about it. Alright the decor is a bit... More

Great real pub with a fantastic selection of guest ales on rotation. There were 7 or 8 kegs on when we visited.

Good friendly pub with loads of Real Ales, well worth a visit. Could do with a Spring Clean and it has a very damp/musty smell when you first enter. We enjoyed the beers though.

First time I'd been to this pub and what a cracking pub it is. Had a good range of real ales. A very good traditional pub with friendly staff
