We ate here for dinner and the entire experience was fabulous! The food was incredible. The appetizers were delicious and the entrees were mouth-watering! The service was great too. When we were leaving, the chef came out and thanked us for coming in. We were definitely impressed by the great customer service. I wish I lived in Edinburgh so I... More

Popped in for lunch. Food was absolutely amazing. We had tandoori chicken and tandoori seabass - both beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection. One of the nicest meals I've had for a while. Lovely!

The food was very tasty, with lots of flavour. Rice portion is enough to share between two people. Service was friendly, but very rushed. The restaurant was overbooked it seemed, and many two person walkins were seated at four chair tables, while four person bookings were asked to return "a few minutes later". It felt like they were trying to... More

Very busy so get there early or be prepared to queue. Not sure if they take bookings. Food was delicious and very generous. We had the chicken momo and the chef's special chicken, which was really wonderfully flavoured. King Prawn tandoori wa also excellent and with wonderful bread. Service is genuinely warm and friendly too - and it was ram... More

Excellent authentic Gurkha restaurant. All dishes were delicious, there were four of us so plenty to taste, service great even on a busy festival night and overall fantastic experience. Will definitely return and would recommend.

Friendliness and service remain exceptional. Food remains the star. Stick to Nepalese choices rather than Indian. Momo starter and Lamb Choila. Main of Poleko Bhale Kukhura. Just can't go wrong here. Excellent value for money. Nice touch not seen before here where Head Chef did a round of the tables to check all was well and enjoyed a fascinating discussion... More

Arrived at about 5.30 for an early dinner. A few tables were already taken. We were seated straight away. Although it was early evening the restaurant soon got busy. We ordered chicken and the vegetable momo's to start along with a ghurka prawn dish. We shared a rice and chicken curry, a Dahl dish and a paneer Karai, along with... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
