We visited Cafe Cassis on a Saturday at 17.00 and were surprised to find that we were the only people in the restaurant. It did get busier. The menu choice was very good and the staff pleasant and efficient. So why the average rating? We enjoyed our meal, the food being above average, but we were somewhat taken back by... More

This is a delightful restaurant on a small side street not far from the city Centre. Wonderful French food served with a Scottish flair, fresh selections and lovely presentation. Everything we had was excellent. There was confusion over our reservation , which I had changed on Open Table, but they quickly accommodated our group on a Friday night. The service... More

The food was wonderful with interesting combinations of flavours which worked so well together. The staff were friendly and attentive; the service matching the quality of the food. The decor was tired but not as major issue as they will be moving to new premises at the end of the year. We will definitely be looking to eat with them... More

Went there two days in a row because the food is good and decently priced. This place shows how to use the great produce that Scotland has to offer and turn it into a delicious (French style) meal.

I visited this place on 30/6/16 but we have been many times before. The food is absolutely excellent value for money : in particular at lunch time.. On Thursday 30/6 we were there for their pre- theatre menu which is around £15 for three courses and includes a small glass of wine. The food is French as the name suggests.... More

Found Cafe Cassis with its advertised gluten free options and range of dishes that were a bit different to the norm. How lucky we were! This is a lovely restaurant run by a French family where the chef will adapt any dish to your needs. We sampled scallops, steak, cod loin and sea bream, all of which were delicious. The... More

We visited the restaurant at the end of June for a family occasion and the food was excellent, catering for all tastes. I had the Mojito Cheesecake which was delicious. The candied orange slice was fantastic taking this dish to another level. Exquisite fine dining.

We had dinner here recently for a friend's birthday having previously had very enjoyable lunches here on several occasions. It was excellent. We had three courses and all were of a very high standard and beautifully presented. The terrine I had was outstanding. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for either lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, it's on the other side... More

Was not sure to begin with as its tucked away in the basement of a hotel. However, what a find!! The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. The chef came out to greet us when we arrived and they all made us feel welcome. Would recommend to everyone.
