The Tron is located at the top of the hill on a corner site on Blair Street. It is on two levels. The upstairs bar is small with several tables. There was not enough chairs available for the number of tables and size of the bar. The interior is quite dark despite the building being on a corner. Drink prices... More

Not all that great. An average pub with average food. The pub itself is not bad and it's quite spacy. A nice pub to go to on South Bridge but cannot compare with the more traditional pubs around Edinburgh.

This is a great venue for a value meal just off the Royal Mile. We sat at the front so could look out at the street performers during breakfast. I don't like a lot of regular breakfast items like beans and mushrooms, so made a breakfast bap from their menu selection of add ons. There is unlimited tea/coffee as well... More

Not much to look at from the outside (or inside), but if you can get past that you will be nicely surprised. Staff are really friendly & the choice & price of the food is good considering this establishment is at the heart of the city. I fully expected to pay much more. The turn over of customers was constant... More

This is a grand place. Good for a drink. Grand for cheap good. Slightly better than Wetherspoons however slightly more gross inside. Maybe it was because it was the festival and was just a bit hectic and whatnot. Nothing special but the staff are friendly enough and it really does have a good selection of food on the (somewhat sticky)... More

Hi there, Thanks for your review. We are currently very busy due to the festival, and some of the more tired looking areas of the pub have been undergoing maintenance. We are happy to hear that you found our staff to be friendly, and our selection of food good. I apologize that you didn't enjoy your salmon, but hopefully you... More

Went back here after around 20 years with my other half, this is one of our old haunts. Still an amazing place, great food, wonderful staff, great vibe to the whole place. It had been modernised of course but still kept the same cosy atmosphere. Would reccommend to anyone. Thanks guys, for helping us to create more fun and happy... More

This is great value pub. I had a mixed grill burger and coke for under a tenner. Liked it so much, I went back a few days later and had another one - and so did my lad. Friendly staff. Will go back next time we are in Edinburgh.

Stumbled upon The Tron whilst in Edinburgh and was drawn in by the food menu and deals. It's a pub essentially where you go up to the bar to order food. Me and my boyfriend both went for the burger and drink deal. Ordering was simple and easy. I did feel sorry for the girl at the bar though as... More

Description
Large 3 level pub in the centre of Edinburgh. We have some of the cheapest drink selections in town so we are very popular with students and backpackers. Traditional pub food served at brilliantly low prices.

We are not affiliated with the venue known as the Tron Kirk.

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
