I first visited this lovely place five years ago. It's got better! Food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Just come back from a great night with my daughters and partner. Hope to be back soon.

Middle East and Turkish restaurants are now fairly common in most cities but the food here was very authentic and had great choice for veg and non-veg. The main problem is that you can easily get carried away by ordering too much but luckily our waiter stopped us from doing so. We had a hot and cold meze made up... More

We try and eat at this restaurant when we are in Edinburgh for our annual Fringe visit. Again, this year it did not disappoint. The staff are very friendly and helpful in fitting you in during the busy time of the Fringe. Like most restaurants in Edinburgh at this time, you cannot book but we were accommodated very quickly. Stumbled across Beirut it as we were looking for something to eat. Service was a little slow but we didn't mind as it was BYOB so we were happy to enjoy our drinks whilst we waited. Food was delicious, very fresh and authentic. Would definitely eat here again.

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighborhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
