Friendly, though somwhat erratic service in this restaurant, but the meal was very good. We enjoyed the lamb kofta -- in big portions! reasonable price too.

Was quite excited about it, but was majorly disappointed. The grill was very dry and bland, the kibbeh was quite cold from the inside, which meant it was possibly defrosted in a microwave. Overall food was not great, especially for the price.

I had a falafel wrap with salad and fries, I thought the food was of mediocre quality, nothing really special. The staff was a bit rude. Wouldn't go there again.

First time eating in a Lebanese restaurant and we were not disappointed. It's BYOB. We had lovely fruit drinks (lemon, melon and mango). The food was very tasty with great flavours. We had a selection of vegetarian and meat dishes. It's well priced and the staff are pleasant. We will visit again.

We came here on the recommendation of friends for a pre theatre meal. Great location if you're going to the Festival theatre. The food was tasty, spicy but not hot with a good selection to choose from. Lovely staff and quick service. It's BYOB but there's plenty of places you can pick up a bottle on the way. Great find!

Basically, it was rubbish, the food was cold and really not even authentic and value for money was poor. Will not be ordering from there again.

An entrance quite difficult to see in the corner of the square , once discovered, leads to a quiet reserved venue for enjoying classical Lebanese food served by extremely pleasant staff and the gentle strains of middle eastern music in the background. The choice of hot and cold starters can be more than sufficient for the pre theatre supper but... More

I went with my family wife and two kids. Very busy place yet quickly had our orders taken and prepared. Very good quality if food and very nice atmosphere. The waiter was hyperactive looking after so many tables yet very quick friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend it and love to go again.

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighborhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
