Worth the short walk away from the Old town, incredible food, great hosts. Best tapas we've ever had! Thanks and hope to be back.

Had very high hopes for the place before our visit; the decor was nice, staff was helpful and attentive; unfortunately food was not to our taste, others seems to really enjoy.

It was like travelling to Spain this evening. The tapas were lovely and just the right quantity. Very enjoyable meal. Reassured too when a table of 8 Spanish nationals arrived for the reserved table next to us. That's when you know you've come to the right place!

Great food and with enough variety on the menu to cater for a vegetarian and someone preferring a meat dish. Additionally, most of the options were gluten free, which was an issue for one of my companions. Staff were very helpful with everything, including checking the gluten status of a couple of things. The price was also very reasonable.

I have visited Indaba several times over the last few years and it has never disappointed. I love all things tapas and the usual things you would expect from a tapas restaurant are on the menu but Indaba also has an added South african twist including boerewors, pap en sous and Sosaties. The food is very tasty and the service... More

A bit difficult to find the place, but worth searching. Good service, taste tapa's, We asked to seve some tapa's for a meal. We got 10 tapa's with 4 persons and including drinks we had to pay about 25 euro's. nice place!

firstly, lets get the bad stuff out the way....the restaurant is in tollcross, and I live on the other side of edinburgh. Which means I have had to travel some distance to get here. This is bad...very bad......and that is all the bad stuff. Cut a long story short, if this was my neighbourhood restaurant, I would be there once... More

This is a very unassuming little place in a fairly grotty looking area but do not let this put you off! The service was brilliant - friendly, efficient and helpful. And the food . . . amazing - it just couldn't be faulted. Absolutely delicious tapas - yum yum! Cash only accepted as the owners are apparently having trouble with... More

Hi Janeyblack, Thanks for the 5 Star review. Pity you say Tollcross is a fairly grotty looking area, we have a good number of great little independent retailers, restaurants, bars and cafès in the locality. We may be a little neglected by our local Council, however, I'd not choose "Grotty" to describe Tollcross. Quaint, Eclectic... I am very happy you... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
