We visited on our last night in Edinburgh having been for a walk round the area and looking a drink before heading back to the hotel. I tried a few Scottish gins which were amazing and my partner did the Sherry Bombs tasting. I’m not...the biggest fan of scotch but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The pizzas were great - everything comes out as and when it’s ready but that’s not a problem. Very surprised at the range of drinks they offered seeing as the pub is so small, but definitely worth a visit!More

The beer was fine, service great, just a nice place to relax away from the mass of tourist's further down the royal mile.

A real piece of history, drinking in the pub once owned by a true Scottish hero. Friendly staff, and good Covid precautions in place.

Booked in here for drinks on the Saturday we got to Edinburgh, waited to enter, was shown to a table, plenty of sanitizer available and screens up between tables. We had our drinks (The Stewarts 80/ is sublime) and whilst seated we all commented on...how nice the Pizzas smelt, then we moved on (2 hour timeslot) Then on the Sunday after visiting the castle we thought we would try and see if they had a table available...They did! the last table! Result! We sat down decided to try the pizzas that had smelt so good the night before, they tasted better, they were superb. Service was brilliant, Andy was such a good friendly person, serving us our beers and having a good laugh with it, The girl behind the bar whose name i didnt get (Sorry!) was also fantastic. All in all? even during these precarious times, we all agreed that this was as close to feeling as safe and normal as any of us had done since the bars reopened, I would advise booking tables though, this is a good place doing its bestin very strange times and tables may be scarce. We're back up next month...Get the 80/ poured mate! :)More

Lovely little pub. Authentic, traditional pub with a great atmosphere and decent food, close to the castle. Good food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. A beautiful place where you can also listen to live local music. As it is on Edinburgh's most touristic street, it can...get really crowded in the evening. Highly recommended a visit.More

Fantastic place for a drink haven’t tried the food but one of our if not favourite places in Edinburgh. Staff are always extremely friendly and helpful and it’s also a really cosy traditional pub totally recommend!

Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
