Miniature delight

I had a "toastie" of ham, cheddar and tomato with tea and husbnad had a bacon and egg roll. Delicious, and good service in very limited space.

This cafe is tiny but has a welcoming ambience and friendly staff.I had a portion of spiced chickpea soup and a toastie which,at less than £5.00,was excellent value especially for a establishment in a capital city.

Come here frequently enough for breakfast and their rolls are to die for. Always good quality bacon for the rolls got from the butcher across the road and very very good value for money. Friendly service and nice menu. Definitely recommend

Breakfast rolls are, as others have said, simply sublime and fantastic value at £2.50. The soup and filled croissant also comes highly recommended. Just an excellent breakfast / brunch place.

Had breakfast rolls outside on a sunny Sunday morning. Huge and delicious as was the tea. Only downside was a bit cramped but it is a small place.

We visited this cafe for a second time, the staff are very friendly and the food really tasty, we had an offer which was soup and sandwich of your choice for £5.95 excellent, both were delicious. Only negative is that this is a small cafe and the door keeps getting left open causing quite a draught on a cool Edinburgh... More

Visiting Edinburgh I found this great little restaurant in Stockbridge. I had their homemade lentil and rustic veg soup with brown bread. Very wholesome and grenerous portion.. Price wise very reasonable and very friendly staff. Will be back during my visit.

We were in this cafe today and I was really touched by the warm welcome given to our son. My husband often visits the cafe with him, after a trek through the local charity shops - a favourite pastime for our son! Normally I am not there too, so I was really impressed when my son barged in, as he... More

Staying in Stockbridge & Dean Village

Neighborhood Profile
Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s first hip neighborhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s most desirable, though many bohemian touches have fallen away as its residents have matured and the area has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but mostly residents display refined tastes in basement bistros, gastropubs, coffee and antique shops, boutiques and delis and at the Sunday farmers' market. A pleasant ten-minute walk away, along a leafy riverside path beside the gurgling Water of Leith, lies Dean Village. This sleepy neighborhood of medieval half-timbered houses still retains much of the village feel it had when watermills plied their trade here. Beyond, the wooded riverside path feels even more remote as it climbs to the sculpture gardens of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
