I ended up at the Haggis Box after noticing several Edinburgh travel blogs as well as local YouTube personalities had mentioned it. The owner was working behind the counter and she was lovely! Very friendly and welcoming. Although it is in a plain cafeteria setting,...the food was 4 stars and beyond. Several choices and varieties were available and I even sampled the vegan choice. Fabulous, doesn’t break the bank and of a genuine Scottish experience, very traditional deliciousness. I’m heading back in February and will be a frequent visitor again.More

Tucked away in the Storytelling Centre the Haggis Box serves up a national classic without frills but full of flavour. We had the traditional haggis with whisky mustard sauce we are haggis novices but the dish was flavourful and exceptionally tasty.

Thank you for your review John. No frills, but full of flavour is definitely what we try to do! I’m glad you found us and enjoyed your first haggis.

The vegan haggis is beautiful, the vegan whisky and mustard sauce is absolutely spectacular and the server was absolutely lovely. I absolutely recommend getting some haggis here if you're in Edinburgh!

Thank you Siobhan! I’m glad we were able to serve you up the vegan option- it’s a pretty good dupe for the traditional as it tries to emulate the same crumbly texture and peppery seasoning. We’re really lucky to have such a lovely team.

I popped into the Haggis Box to try their gluten-free haggis, which looked delicious. I got the whisky sauce, which I highly recommend. The entire meal was tasty and the employees were very friendly. If I'd had time on the trip, I would've eaten at...the Haggis Box again--it was that good!More

My first time having haggis and i went back for another lunch another time and brought more of my american friends with me. The spicing and flavors are great and complimented by the neeps and tatties. their home made soups are really delicious and fresh....Would not recommend the scotch eggs though- were very dry. the cafe although small is quite clean and bright with art gallery off to one side and is at the back of the delightful storytelling center. there is bar seating facing street so very comfortable if you're by yourself.More

The Haggis Box were one of the caterers at my daughter’s wedding at Yester Estate, Gifford. Peter was so friendly, chatting with guests. The haggis, neeps and tatties were the best I’ve ever had. Choice of whiskey or red wine sauce. Veggie option, which I’m...told was fab! Brilliant service and perfectly fitted the relaxed vibe of the whole day. Thanks so muchMore

Absolutely fantastic slice of tasty Scottish food! We missed visiting the box in the city, so we're delighted to see via social media that the shack is on tour in local villages. We caught up in Oxton and went for the haggis and neeps. Such...a good meal, so filling, seriously flavoursome and you may not need to eat again that day! Great service by a lovely, smiley chap too.More

I visited this place twice for lunch, while being in Edinburgh. I had the vegan haggis with mashed neeps (turnips) and tatties (potatoes) on my 1st visit and the Leek & mushroom quiche with salad, on my 2nd visit. The haggis was delicious, it was...peppery with warming spices. The quiche was equally scrumptious. I will visit again on my next visit to this magical city. SEE photosMore
