Really great seafood restaurant - has been every time I've been. Extensive menu with plenty different options to try. Service is prompt and staff are very friendly. Is definitely one of the best seafood restaurants in Edinburgh. I could not fault anything with our meal and highly recommend this restaurant.

This is the place to go in Edinburgh if you like fresh seafood. It is located in a charming area (the Shore) and have a small terrace you can enjoy weather permitting. The restaurant itself has an interesting sea related decor and the atmosphere is very nice. The staff is dedicated and efficient. The menu offers an extensive choice of... More

From the outside you'd be forgiven you were looking at a typical old pub. The location is fantastic with some outside seating. The menu is mouth watering, any type of seafood you wish to name. I opted for a house specialty of King Scallops with a thermadore sauce and sweet potato fries. While waiting I was given complimentary bread, great... More

I am a regular visitor to fish/seafood restaurants. Whilst 'The Ship on the Shore' is a delightful place in a lovely location, it charges prices that indicate the food is special. Trust me, it isnt!!!! Example - I had Halibut for a main, cost £26. It was small and boney. Would have refused to pay for it had I not... More

Visited here based on reviews and were not disappointed. Pate and clams were our starters followed by salmon and halibut and both were excellent. Service was superb - they gave advice on menu and also cocktails !! So good we returned for another cocktail following day -it was our anniversary after all!!

We booked on a busy Saturday night . We both had the oyster selection to start which were fantastic . We ordered paella for main course , the fresh Fish in the paella was cooked to perfection but the rice in the paella lacked flavour and was very bland. The service was really good . Would recommend this restaurant

We ordered a hot and cold shellfish platter between four, and they were just magnificent, both in presentation and more important taste! Lovely place, not noisy, great service.

Thank David B
