We were in Edinburgh for the Festival and went to Blonde without having booked a table. We didn't really think we would get in as it's such a popular restaurant. The Manager went to great pains to find us a space and we enjoyed an...More

How lucky we were to have this restaurant just 2 blocks from our AirB&B! It’s not a big restaurant so reservations ahead of time are probably a good idea. The gnocchi with artichoke, tomatoes and broad beans was delicious. A return visit is definitely in...More

We ate here at Festival time and it was perfect. Good choice of dishes, tasty food and a selection of well priced good quality wines. Staff were very helpful. We were out in plenty of time for the show we were going to.

We had a good lunch here during our Fringe restaurant. Small, nice decor, very good food (haggis Bon Bons followed by confit of duck leg). Portions not huge but that was a good thing after a late breakfast. Nice wines by the glass. The lady...More

This is a bit of walk from central Edinburgh- but it was fun to see another part of city. It was a very busy little restaurant. We had made reservations in advance for our group. The food and service were very good. Prices were very...More

Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around
university buildings in Southside, the sort of

second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for
just a few pounds. In August the student population is
replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here
for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and
arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking
