Four stars for the food and ambiance, but just one for service. Our waitress was simply miserable and didn’t want to be there. The food, however was very good. Excellent fish and chips.

We decided to go here yesterday about 1pm as being a little further down the High Street we thought it might not be affected too much by the hoardes of festival goers checking out various venues, shops and street performers. There were several tables free...More

Had drinks there with friends while on holiday in Edinburgh. There was music (singer with guitar) and we had fun singing along to songs. Good choice of drinks, too.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Mitre Bar! Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and were very aware of allergies/intolerances in meals (great with gluten free). Good portion sizes at competitive prices (and tasted great!) Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone while in Edinburgh!...More

Food was great Staff all friendly Kept apologising as bar area was a bit noisy. It is a gastro pub so will always have background chatter. Tip. Look around the bar area including the ceilings. Beautiful building

Your standard pub in the middle of touristy Edinburgh. Good for a pint, nothing out of the ordinary.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal

Hi, sorry I'm not sure. We were in another pub earlier with a 10 year old and he was allowed if he was eating. I suspect there are no kids allowed after 6.00 pm
