Spent night here while visiting Edinburgh. It is absolutely brilliant. We did their January deal but were upgraded, which was a surprise but lovely to experience one of their unusual rooms. The staff were very efficient and although we didn't eat here except breakfast, we thoroughly enjoyed that. It was nice to know everything was freshly made and not "buffet"... More

Went here for lunch and had a booking for 1.45, we arrived at 1.30 and the table was already ready for us. Sat down and ordered a cocktail and other drinks, all arrived within a short time. Ordered from the sharing menu and the food was at the table just as quick as the drinks were. Food was incredible, amazing... More

Absolutely loved my visit to Tigerlily's. The cocktails were amazing and the food was gorgeous. Very clean and the staff were brilliant. Great atmosphere. Very busy but the staff managed to fit us in and were very accommodating. Would book next time. Highly recommend.

I visited Tigerlily in December with two friends for breakfast/ brunch (11am). The restaurant and decor was lovely. And there was a good menu selection. Until we were advised when ordering that they did not have any avocado.... making all 3 dishes suddenly bland. I know it sounds quite minor, but it's just such a basic ingredient for a breakfast/... Good friendly roomy bar with reasonable food choice. We, four of us, shared a cold cuts and cheese platter which went down well. Not too expensive. This was in the upstairs restaurant. Ground floor bar looked more trendy.

Took my wife here on the 11th Jan. Very nice restaurant. Waitress was very pleasant and informative about the menu. Food and drink was delicious and we went to the bar after dinner for a few more drinks. £80 for two mains, 1 dessert and a bottle of wine

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
