We enjoyed a lovely lunch in Tiger Lily's. The staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed squid and ham hock croquettes, although there were only 2 of these and could have done with at least 3 - they were delicious. The pulled pork flatbread was tasty but the flat bread was a toasted wrap, and the 'chilli chips' were simply sprinkled... More

We had lunch here whilst we were waiting for our room to be ready. The food was ok but could be a lot better. The restaurant is interesting and a fun place to eat so it made up a little bit for the average food. Service was a bit hit and miss in the restaurant but better in the hotel.

Just recently had our second weekday trip to Tigerlily for a dinner, and wasn't disappointed. Food was excellent - my partner enjoyed the seafood and I had the soup of the day, which was a mushroom and truffle one. Lovely. We ordered sides and other things with our main meal, and didn't notice any slow service that some of the... More

My wife and I shared the sharing Jurrasic Steak which was extremely tasty although slightly over for my taste. There was also only 1 portion of fries to share which seemed a bit mean considering it isn't cheap. The food itself was of a reasonable standard. The bar is definitely a bit different for Edinburgh and a good place to... More

This bar is extremely luxurious in its décor, with glass chandeliers and plush furnishings. The drinks weren't too expensive and were very tasty. Service was good. Definitely worth a visit.

I have visited Tiger Lily a few times, usually to catch up with friends and family over lunch. The Friday lunch and cocktail deals are really good value and the food is always tasty. The place itself is a little over styled for my taste and it does appear to draw the TOWIE-style crowd at the weekend but overall it's... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
