This cafe was right down the street from where my brothers and I were staying and after walking by it the first few days we finally decided to stop in for breakfast on our last day; we wish we had gone sooner! James, the owner, was an amazing guy that held great and funny conversation with us for the whole... More

4 of us had a meal here on the Saturday night and cant say a bad word. The choices were great, not a massive exhausting menu and good choice of specials, i had the salmon which was the best i have ever had, everyone else said they really enjoyed their meal too. Staff are lovely, really friendly, well priced and... More

First time I've visited this restaurant and truly enjoyed a great lunch with a good pal in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It is certainly 'bijou' which, in fact, adds to the ambiance. I felt part of the 'Bijou Family'. I was pleasantly surprised by the extent of the menu. The food itself was beautifully prepared and presented. An all... More

We ate the venison burger (deer burger), the smoked salmon pie and as dessert a chocolate parfait. Everything was just delicious. The waitress was very kind and the service was excellent. In one word: AWESOME.

Last minute search on Google and there it was - good reviews so we thought we'd chance it - so glad we did. A warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door and it didn't stop there. The wine list was a good selection of nicely priced and more expensive wines, but the best bit was the witty... More

Cannot rate Bijou highly enough. The staff, the food, the ambience, it is all perfect. Food is made to order in a wee kitchen but the standard is always perfection. I have eaten here for breakfast, lunch, dinner and just coffee/cake. It certainly deserves every award received. Bijou gets my vote every time :)

I dined at Bijou last week while visiting family in Edinburgh. The food was delicious, nicely plated, and there is a lovely, warm atmosphere. I enjoyed samphire grass for the first time. Will definitely look to return on my next trip to Scotland.

Group of 5 of us had a fantastic breakfast here on Sunday morning. Food was delicious, not to mention very reasonably priced, and the service was quick, friendly and just right. Would love to come back again. The vegetarian in our midst was delighted with her veggie breakfast as were remaining omnivores.

We attended last night's French wine dinner, hosted by Great Grog. Food and wine were very tasty, the atmosphere convivial and laid back. The highlight was probably the melty confit duck leg. Beware- service may contain banter!
