The Agacan is something of a Dundee institution, being a permanent fixture on the Perth Road for more years than I would care to remember. A small, intimate venue, well-decorated with plentiful artwork inside, and some rather interesting carvings on the exterior. Service is friendly and efficient, with explanations and recommendations given upon request. I asked for a slight amendment... More

Loads of friends rate the agacan, and I'd never been, so when - after a few drinks in the west end on a Sunday evening - my wife and I were looking for some food, we thought 'well, we need to go some time...'. Friendly service, fun atmosphere in the place, small but comfortable enough. Forgetting about the price, the... More

My wife and I eat in this restaurant quite regularly because the décor and the surroundings have to be seen to be believed. The staff are very friendly, the food is very good. Portions are sizeable. If you want a new experience, the Agacan is a must - it is very popular, so book in advance to avoid disappointment

Ordered takeaway of Agacan special and when I got home discovered it had all been slopped into one box, half the usual portion, which would have the chicken and veg in one box and the rice in another.... the sauce was also poured over, not in a separate dish as usual, it was an inedible mush, and the same price... Been here on a few occasions over the years and this evening thought I would treat myself to the usual iskender, well very disappointed a very small portion of tasteless soggy mush. No flavour at all and for £12.00 expected better.

Table for four on spec after last minute cancellation. Ridiculous prices for meat, boiled rice and cubed salad vegetables. Asked for 2 half portions for kids but was charged a full meal price for each meal, despite originally asking for one full meal they could share. Novel decor and some nice paintings displayed for sale. Nothing to merit another visit.... More

It is small resistant with great food so book in advance to sit. The decor however is not my cup of tea. In fact my wife would not go back to this Restuarent because of the decor. The service is very friendly and precise are mid range.

Have eaten here many times since it opened in 1982 both sitting in and takeaway. The staff are always very friendly and although it is a very small place with a small menu the food is invariably excellent. The diner kebabs are made by the owner himself and are to die for. Book in advance if you want to sit... More
