Atmosphere: Arriving at this amazing looking restaurant is a great way to start the evening, with all of it being handpainted by an artist which creates a wonderful atmosphere and gives you a great vibe. It's a small restaurant, but I think that works well,...you feel as if you're in a friends kitchen who's cooking for you. Overall a great atmosphere, and probably one of the best in Dundee in terms of look and aura.
Service: Service at the restaurant was perfectly fine and as you'd expect, nothing much to talk about unless it's either extremely poor service or completely amazing.
Food: I came expecting some amazing meat, and chose the doner & kofte mix, which comes on a bed of rice and a side salad. The doner was quite average, nothing that would excite the tastebuds too much, but not at all bad, just not as good as you might expect it to be, and this also goes for the kofte. The rice - and I'm no expert on Turkish style rice, was also fairly bland, and a little bit too soggy, nothing too bad, but you could tell it wasn't cooked to perfection. I also added both a yoghurt sauce and a chilli sauce, as it would be wrong not to, both were great sauces and accompaniments for the meat.
Drinks: I ordered a beer, and Turkish coffee, both were perfectly fine, again nothing to write home about, but I'm glad I got them as it's a Turkish beer I've never had and my first time tasting Turkish coffee, and if I were to go back, I'd likely order that again.
Value: It was £16.50 for the D&K and an additional £1 & £1.50 for the sauces, which I think is a little overpriced, and for that price, I was expecting a little bit more taste. The coffee was £1.60 and the beer £3.60 (not 100% sure, but it was within 10p or so). Overall, the value isn't bad, maybe just a tad more than what I feel taste-wise I can get for the same price somewhere else, but I'd reckon others would be perfectly happy with the price, and that's not to say I'm not, again, I just think It's a tad too much.
Overall: Definitely worth a shot and perfect for dates, anniversaries etc. The restaurant is a beauty to behold, and a nice little change from the typical menu items.More
