This was our second time of visiting this restaurant and it was lovely. The fish and chips was delicious and the waitress happily exchanged peas for baked beans for us fussier eaters! There was not a crumb left between us at the end and we revisit this area if we find ourselves in this region again.

We were tempted by the fresh cod on offer. Upon being shown to a seat and giving our order we were informed that there was no cod available, only haddock. We were then informed that there was no difference between cod and haddock. The waitress explained that we could get cod at a nearby hotel but it would be more... More

The food we ordered was beautifully cooked and immensely tasty - excellent hand cut chips, homemade tartar sauce and a lovely piece of battered haddock. Service was excellent. And then came the obligatory loo visit. Despite the promising decor, the toilet units themselves were reminiscent of an industrial themed 80s night club - chrome bowl, no toilet seat, just a... Don't miss out on some of Scotlands finest fish & shell fish on offer. My self & my wife enjoyed an array of food on the harbour. The prices were amazing along with freshness of what was available to eat, we had oysters, longastines, mussels in white wine & scallops for next to nothing/ We would recommend eating there fresh... Fish tea was ok but nothing special, service was a bit hit and miss. Waitress was a bit matter of fact and hardly raised a smile,

My husband, son and I are up in Oban with our caravan for the long weekend. We were having a wander round the town to decide where to go for dinner and spotted this place. It looked nicely furnished and lit from the outside and just a nice balance between being somewhere for a relaxed dinner and not just feeling... More

We were on holiday for a week staying in a little cottage in Benderloch. My wife, 4 year old granddaughter and i came into Oban for dinner one night and ended up in here. The staff were nice and friendly. So much so, we ended up coming back another twice during our holiday. We tried many different meals and all... More

The DiCiacca family have been running successful restaurants in Oban for 3 generations. Onorio and Elvira first came to Oban from Picinisco, Italy in 1959 to open their first chip shop. The Family's dedication to their customers and delicious recipes with big Italian flavours, have kept the Locals and the Visitors to Oban full and happy for generations. Renato and son Antonio, continue this long line of culinary tradition with the Oban Fish Bar & Restaurant and Nories Fish & Chip shop, which is just a little further along on George Street in Oban. Being in The Seafood Capital of Scotland, The Oban Fish Bar & Restaurant offers a wide choice of Fish and Seafood to tantalise your taste buds, but for the non fish eaters amongst you, enjoy the hand cut chips, try the delicious homemade Italian dishes or give the Gourmet Burgers from the local butcher a go. Maybe you're looking for authentic handmade Stone Baked Italian Pizza's? We've got that covered as well. Renato also likes to keep up with the latest developments which means we now also offer Gluten Free batter so everyone can enjoy the DiCiacca Family's delicious dishes.
