Very nice food cooked to order, served in a cosy lounge. We had a itison voucher but even without this the prices are really good. On the down side when the cleared the table waitress said is that your voucher I replied yes and handed it over, no offer of a sweet or tea or coffee left a be disappointed.

My second visit, did not disappoint. On my first visit I tried the steak pie, which was lovely and a very generous portion. This time I went for the macaroni cheese, easily the best I had ever had. Lovely (and huge!). Fab stuff, just what you want from a pub lunch.

Went for a meal with family as sister visiting, been many times in the past and this visit was up to the usual high standard. Service good, choice good and food excellent, one of my favourite restaurants.

Popped in for lunch. Two excellent full bowls of lentil soup piping hot followed by portions of proper steak pie and chips. Proper pastry cut from an actual pie with the soggy gravy soaked bit under the flaky pastry that's the best bit. None of your sheet of pastry threw on top of beef stew carry on. Think it was... Travelled to Forfar last week to meet up with a few ex-colleagues and as always, our number one choice for a few drinks of an evening was the Queen Street Tavern. It's a well appointed comfortable and relaxing place to spend an evening with friends, food available if you so wish, and welcoming friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.

Dropped in for a beer as this looks like a welcoming sort of cosy auld style friendly pub. Don't be fooled, the only conversation with ' mine hostess' was cheerio when I left. Having worked in the bar trade for 30 years or so I would never pass an opportunity for a bit o banter and a laugh, nae danger... More

Visited for the Sunday Carvery. Great choice of Roasts and their famous Steak Pie. Good selection of vegetables which were very fresh and nicely cooked. Good selection of desserts. Nice friendly and efficient staff. Seems to be very popular as was busy.

We have been visiting the 'Tavern for the occasional Lunch for nearly fifteen years and when the long-time manageress retired we feared a staff change would result in standards dropping. However the latest incumbent ,having managed to retain the Kitchen staff, still pesides over great food(especially the trad steak pie of special taste). we can relax now and enjoy again in...
