Loved the little amuse bouche that arrived before our starters. We were recommended a nice white wine which went down a treat. Starters looked and tasted beautiful and my bass for main course was delicious. Would come back here in a heartbeat and will recommend to friends.

Nice restaurant by the sea outside the city centre. Promising menu with a four course meal for 45 GBP. The prawn and crab starter was all right, but was a bit plain. The venison was over cooked for a medium/rare order and tasted from liver. All together a disappointment given all the high reviews. The staff was friendly but could... More

So the silver darling was one of my favourite places to go until my last visit. Big change here for me profit over customer satisfaction has definitely overtaken. Now I ll skip the starter and go straight onto my main turkey with all the trimmings woah!!! A plate of nothing that was swimming in a plate of oily gravy well... More

Beautiful table overlooking the harbour, chose scallops followed by monkfish and squeezed in a banoffee cheesecake. Staff attentive, food brought out in a timely manner, excellent dishes- well worth a visit

Ok so it was an Itison “deal” – allegedly half price or at a major discount anyway. We have historically enjoyed many lovely lunches over the years and the occasional dinner, but this was not a good experience. So for approx.£20/head I had fish soup (not bad), Wagyu beef burger (tasted ok) served with 6 chips and a pot of... More

Whenever we are in Aberdeen we try to visit this restaurant as we have enjoyed every visit in the past. The restaurant is a little out of the way but well worth the taxi ride as you will not be disappointed. Speciality is fish although they also have meat on the menu. Its on the pricey side for both food... More

The food presentation is great. Disappointed for the preparation of lobsters with gratee .Expected different preparation.Cream covering the taste of the lobster. Good choice of wines and a good service . Nice indoor environment. To expensive for what you get.

Great restaurant. Friendly, and efficient service. Delicious oysters and seafood fricasse as starters. Sea trout was well cooked although my sole was slightly overdone but tasty non the less Spiced apple pannacotta was fabulous. Good wine list. Best high end meal in Aberdeen.

Having known this restaurant for many years, this was my first visit since moving overseas some thrity years ago. Very pleased to find that the quality had not changed! Excellent fish served in a very pleasant environment. Not the cheapest and therefore with some very high expectations to live up to AND it did. Fish well prepared and sympathetically cooked.... Named after a local term for herring, Silver Darling makes the most of a superb spot at the entrance of Aberdeen harbour. Built on the flat roof of the old customs house, the conservatory style restaurant commands panoramic views of the Dee estuary one side, and the length of the beach and headland the other (summer sunsets are priceless). A classic French menu is a triumph of superbly presented dishes, singing with flavour. Three courses at dinner could start with oysters marinated with lime and Granny Smiths, followed by pan-fried Atlantic sea bream in red wine, and the dessert du jour.
